"A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."
~ Proverbs 18:24 | KJB

This verse teaches us that nurturing genuine, quality friendships require active efforts in being friendly and kind, and where loyalty and devotion to the friendship are central. These types of friendships stand in contrast to superficial, fair-weathered relationships and friendships where loyalty lacks. Let this verse remind you to cherish the meaningful friendships you've built in your life and honor them, while being thankful to God to be able to discern a genuine friendship from an ingenuine one โ€“ as you are reading through Scripture today...

Have a blessed day

What A Friend We Have In Jesus - Chris Else

"What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer,
Take it to the Lord in prayer."

Few verses confuse readers more than Exodus 23:19, Exodus 34:26, and Deuteronomy 14:21 where God commands Israel not to boil a young goat in its motherโ€™s milk. Some treat it like a random food rule, others ignore it completely, but Scripture rarely gives repeated commands without deep meaning. In the ancient world, many pagan fertility rituals used the shocking image of cooking a baby animal in the very milk meant to sustain it. God was drawing a hard line between His people and surrounding practices that blurred life, death, and worship. What looked like a kitchen instruction was actually a spiritual boundary.

Leviticus 20:26 shows the pattern. Israel was called to be set apart. Mixing milk, a symbol of nurture and life, with meat, a symbol of sacrifice and death, represented a moral confusion common in idol worship. Godโ€™s law often used physical actions to teach spiritual separation. The command was less about diet and more about identity.

Some argue the rule proves that all believers today must avoid combining dairy and meat. Others point to
Mark 7:18-19 and Acts 10 where food laws begin to shift under the new covenant. The deeper principle remains. God was confronting a culture that normalized cruelty disguised as ritual. He was teaching that life given by God must not be twisted into something violent or profane.

The controversy today is not really about food. It is about whether believers still understand holiness as separation. When Scripture draws a line, it exposes the heart. The command about milk and meat reminds us that God does not only care about belief. He cares about what His people symbolize to the world. Ignore that, and the law looks strange. Understand it, and it becomes a warning against blending what God has called sacred with what culture calls normal.

Solomon offers a contrast between discretion and gossip

Godly "discretion" does not mean ignoring offenses or hiding crimes

This is not the attitude referred to in English as

"sweeping it under the rug"

Rather, those who seek to demonstrate love

( ~ John 13:34โ€“35; ~ Romans 12:10 )

Aim for repentance and reconciliation

( ~ Proverbs 10:12 )

That might involve consequences

( ~ 1 Corinthians 5:13 )

But the primary goal is bringing others closer to God

Choosing to handle offenses with grace can even convince an enemy of their own wrongdoing

( ~ Proverbs 16:7 )

The opposite extreme from entirely ignoring a problem is indiscretion

Repeating the news of an offense to those who have no reason to know about it

As with the first half of the Proverb...

The intent is not to discourage accountability

Informing authorities is not gossip

Saying nothing could mean enabling sin...

Part 2 continues below ๐Ÿ‘‡

Part 2 continues...

What this part of the proverb describes are...

Personal differences
Mistakes
Or Embarrassments

( ~ Proverbs 12:16 )

"Blabbing" about someone else's shortcomings is a form of damaging, evil speech

( ~ Proverbs 16:27

Even good friendships can be destroyed by such betrayals

The New Testament strongly condemns gossip and the actions of a busybody

It encourages believers to help whenever a brother is overtaken in a transgression

~ Galatians 6:1 instructs...

"Brothers, if anyone is caught in a transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted"

~ Proverbs 17:7

Continues Solomon's wise observations

These remarks touch on...

* Speech
* Fools
* Strife
* True friendship
* Co-signing loans
* Love of sinning

And what a fool can expect thanks to his foolishness

Numerous comments involve errors that lead to arguments and division

Some observations make a statement and then add to it

Others present vivid contrasts

In Todays world there is alot to be learned from this in soooo many platforms...

Especially social media

You've probably heard this poisonous statement many times...

"It's just a little harmless gossip"

The Wise Teacher reminds us that gossip is neither little nor harmless

Sharing someone else's...

Stumble
Offense
Failure
Or Flaws

Separates friends and causes horrible damage

The consequences of such gossip are severe

And its damage is often lasting and devastating

Especially to relationships

Instead...

It is much better to be a peacemaker

And an offense-mender

Someone who covers over an offense with...

Grace, Forgiveness, and Love

As Jesus said:

โ€œBlessed are the peacemakers: for they shall bee called the children of God.โ€

~ Matthew 5:9

A peacemaker is one who covers over an offense

And promotes love and peace

LET THAT BE SAID OF US !

My Prayer...

Father of Glory,

I confess that I am often more a peace lover than a peacemaker

Being a peacemaker seems to be a lot harder for us in these times

Covering over offenses feels a lot more difficult than passing on the gossip about an offense

So, please give me the character not to repeat gossip

But instead to have the wisdom and strength to be an offense-mender

And an offense-coverer

Through the Prince of Peace
Himself
I pray

Amen

"My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever."
~ Psalm 73:26 | KJB

This verse highlights how frail and bound to physical limits our human nature is. But even moreso, does it point to our human flawedness: we are in comparison to God very flawed, lowly and weak. And it's only with God that we become strong enough to carry ourselves. Yet even then we still need God and can't make it on our own without God. It's through Christ who gives us strength, that we are able to withstand the whiles of the devil. How many times have you wanted to do something, but can't? And then all of a sudden when you put your faith in God being there to help you through something that once was a stumbling block you couldn't pass on your own... that's God in your life. Not luck, not the universe โ€“ but GOD. He saw you through that obstacle without you even fully realizing it was all His doing all that time: that He was there all along. God is right there when we find ourselves alone, trapped and unable. Even when the world doesn't seem to care. All we need to do is reach out, reach back out to Him. He's waiting.
Let this verse be a light to you in understanding that even in our darkest moments God offers you His lamp, love and kindness to get you through whatever is going on in your life...

Have a blessed day

Stress comes when we try to carry everything ourselves.
Peace comes when we place it back into Godโ€™s hands.

In John 14:27, Jesus reminds us that His peace is different from the worldโ€™s. It doesnโ€™t fade when circumstances shift or fear rises. His peace steadies the heart even in the storm.

If your heart feels troubled today, release what youโ€™re holding. His peace is already given.

โ€œPeace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.โ€
John 14:27

Crumbs From The Table | The Pointe Recording (Worship Song)

Matthew 15:25-28

The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs." "Yes, Lord," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

This song is a reminder that, in the eyes of Jesus, we are worth so much more than just crumbs from the table! So worship with us at The Pointe, and take a seat beside Jesus at the table.

Alle religies zeggen: โ€œDit is de weg.โ€
Alleen Jezus zegt: โ€œIk ben de Weg.โ€
(Johannes 14:6)

Ondanks hun onderlinge verschillen hebben zij รฉรฉn ding gemeen:

Regels volgen.
Moreel verbeteren.
Rituelen uitvoeren.
Verdiensten opbouwen.

(Romeinen 3:23)

(Efeze 2:8

(Johannes 14:6)

(Handelingen 4:12)

Translation of the Dutch Christian Vault post โ€“ image excluded:

Worldwide, there are thousands of religions and philosophies of life โ€” estimates range from more than 4,000.
Despite their differences, they have one thing in common:
the human being must do something to reach God.

Follow rules.
Improve morally.
Perform rituals.
Accumulate merits.

The burden always lies with the human being.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ completely breaks this pattern.

The Bible teaches that the human being is not able to save himself โ€” not by works, not by knowledge, not by piety.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
(Roman 3:23)

Therefore, God Himself came to the human being.

Not with a new religion, but with salvation by grace.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God,
not by works, lest anyone should boast."
(Ephesians 2:8
Jesus does not point out a path among many other paths.
He does not say: follow My teaching and save yourself.
He says:

"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life."
(John 14:6)

No other faith teaches:

that God became human

that He Himself bore the punishment

that salvation is completely accomplished

that grace is the beginning and the end

Therefore, God's Word is not one voice among many, but the voice of God Himself.
It is revelation, not opinion.
Grace, not achievement.
Christ, not a system.

"There is no other name under heaven
by which we must be saved."
(Acts 4:12)
