" ³⁴ The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, ³⁵ Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might. ³⁶ And upon Elam I will bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcssts of Elam shall not come. ³⁷ For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and I will bring evil upon them, 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them.* ³⁸ And I will set My throne in Elam, and I will destroy from thence the king and princes, saith the LORD. ³⁹ But it shall come to pass in the latter days, 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 I will bring again the capitivity of Elam, saith the LORD." Jeremiah 49:34-39 | KJB
is the full passage you can find in part 1.
Its highlighted verse is Jeremiah 49:37 of which I made an image as the complete passage wasn't suitable for one small image.
The passage itself holds a prophecy against Elam that roughly dates back to 597 B.C. Elam was a nation to the (south-) east of Babylon, now modern day Iran. Both Elam and Babylon were located where today's Iran is located.
The prophecy was made by the prophet Jeremiah during Zedekiah's early reign. In this passage God announces to Jeremiah the destruction of Elam's military, scattering its people worldwide due to their hostility. The prophecy itself ends with a promise of restoration for Elam in the future.
Like Elam can be restored, remember that all else, including you, can be restored. Nothing is every too far gone or impossible with such an amazing God as ours. Let it motivate you to not give up any hope on restoration...

Here, in what is likely the oldest of all the psalms...

Moses answers a question which comes up even today

When did God begin ?

The answer is that He did not "begin"

He has always existed

And He always will exist

He is eternal

Without beginning or end

He lived before He formed the mountains and brought the earth and the universe into existence

This is not merely something Scripture claims

It is also a logical necessity

There must be one un-created and un-caused "something" to originate everything else

Otherwise...

There could never be anything at all

The Son of God is also eternal

He described Himself to the apostle John on the island of Patmos as

"'the Alpha and the Omega…'who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty'"

( ~ Revelation 1:8 )



John affirms that in

~ John 1:2–3 affirms that the eternal Son of God

"was in the beginning with God"

and...

"all things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made"

The Holy Spirit, the third member of the Trinity, is also eternal

~ Hebrews 9:14 tells us Jesus offered Himself as the flawless sacrifice

"through the eternal Spirit"

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are the eternal members of the Trinity

And each played a role in creation

The Father spoke everything into existence through His Son

And the Holy Spirit hovered over the face of the waters

( ~ Genesis 1:1 )


~ Psalm 90:1–2 cites God as eternally existent and Israel's dwelling place

Meaning their refuge

He also describes God as the Creator

God is not part of the creation...

He existed before He created the mountains, the earth, and the world

He has always existed and always will exist

~ Genesis 1 and 2 describe God's creative process

~ Hebrews 11:3 points out that God created the universe by His spoken word



My Prayer for today...


Heavenly Father,

I worship You because You are God from everlasting to everlasting

Before the mountains were formed or the earth was created

You existed

In times of change...

I rest in Your eternal, unchanging nature

Be my dwelling place

My stability

And my source of wisdom

For You alone are God

Yesterday, Today, & Forever

In the Bible...

People are told to hold their peace...

Because peace is a place of power

God tells us not to be moved when our opponents and adversaries come against us

We are to remain constant, fearless, and at peace

His Word says...

"The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace"

No matter what is happening...

Remain consistent

Continue treating people well

Continue walking in the fruit of the Spirit

Nederigheid is geen zwakte.

De minste willen zijn
betekent:
ons eigen ik loslaten,
onze verlangens neerleggen,
en Christus ruimte geven.

Dat is niet makkelijk.
Maar het is wél een bijbelse sleutel.

Humility is not weakness.
It is spiritual strength.

Jesus was humble.
Not because He was the least,
but because He willingly gave Himself up.

The Scripture says:

"He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross."
— Philippians 2:8

He did not exalt Himself,
and precisely because of that, Satan had no hold over Him.

Pride was Satan's downfall.
Humility is his blockade.

For:

"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
— James 4:6

When we do not exalt ourselves,
when we stop honoring ourselves,
the enemy loses his foothold.

By being humble,
lust has no room.
The flesh is not fed,
it is laid aside.

As it is written:

"For those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."
— Galatians 5:24

To want to be the least
means:
letting go of our own self,
laying aside our desires,
and making room for Christ.

That's not easy.
But it is indeed a biblical key.
