Translation of the Dutch Christian Vault post:
In the 19th century, in some hospitals, up to one in four women giving birth died.
Not from war.
Not from complications.
But from infections that no one wanted to see.
Doctors began their day in the morgue.
Then they walked directly into the delivery rooms without washing their hands.
They examined pregnant women with the same hands that had recently touched the dead.
Death did not come from a lack of care,
but through those who provided care.
Amidst all this, one doctor stood up and took a different path:
Ignaz Semmelweis.
Semmelweis took the Bible seriously โ not just spiritually, but also practically.
He saw in the Scriptures clear principles about cleanliness, isolation, water, and touching the dead.
What had been dismissed as a religious requirement for centuries turned out to be life-saving in practice.
He didn't introduce a new theory.
No complicated science.
He set one simple rule, in line with those old principles:
doctors and students had to wash their hands in a basin of water before examining a patient.
The result was shockingly clear:
the mortality rate dropped from 17-25% to less than 2% โ within three months.
Lives were saved.
But pride was hurt.
Colleagues felt attacked.
They laughed at him.
Called him old-fashioned.
Religiously prejudiced.
And ultimately: insane.
His contract was not renewed.
The sinks were thrown away.
And death returned.
Semmelweis kept insisting.
Kept pointing out the figures.
Kept speaking up for the mothers who were dying.
That broke him.
He was eventually locked up in a psychiatric institution,
where he died โ without recognition.
It wasn't until years later that the medical world admitted he was right.
Sometimes truth isn't complicated.
Sometimes the water is already ready.
But humility is the rarest ingredient.

๐ TRUSTING IN THE LORD, NOT OTHERS NOR IN OURSELVES
We cannot blindly trust our favorite pastors or Bible teachers based solely on the good feelings we derive from their teachings or the experiences we encounter in churches, conferences, and CMC worship music.
Our emotions and experiences are subjectiveโfleeting states that cannot serve as objective truthsโand are often rooted in the flesh rather than the Spirit of truth. Moreover, when discerning Godโs will and walking in faith, even our own hearts can be deceptive and should not be trusted.
Let us not forget, dear friends, Eve in the Garden of Eden.
Her heart was stirred by lustful desires, and her emotions carried her away from obedience to Godโs explicit command not to eat from โthe tree of the knowledge of good and evil" (Genesis 2:16โ17). The "subtil" serpentโs deceitful words found fertile ground in her unchecked passions, and from that moment sorrow, pain, and sin entered human existence on earth. How apt are the words of the Lord spoken through the prophet Jeremiah:
โ The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9
Eveโs sin mirrors this truth.
When we succumb to the deceptive whispers of our hearts, our feelings, our experiences, and the lies of Satanโrather than anchoring ourselves in Godโs wisdomโwe invite chaos into our lives.
Let the fall of Eve be a lasting reminder: we must trust solely in what God has given usโHis Word. The Bible is our final authority, the unshakable foundation of truth.
Do not follow people, nor trust in your feelings, nor seek experiencesโunless guided by the Holy Spirit.
Always trust in the words found in the Holy Bible, for they are the truth. Follow Jesus Christ faithfully; it is in His narrow way that leads to life (Matthew 7:14), not in the ways of others or our own desires, that we truly find God.
Matthew 7:13-14
โ Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

โ 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
โ 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheepโs clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
False Teachers Have Two Types of Fruit
1) Their message. It is what they teach or give out. Many times they know how to cover it up until they gain a foothold, especially in churches. Example: new Calvinists.
โ Galatians 2:4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: 5 To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
โ 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2) Their followers. If you want to know what a certain preacher, church, or ministry teaches, ask someone who has been going there for a while. Some people in ministry will deceive you about their position on an issue to get you to agree with them or to not be found out. Although, you can often know what they believe by talking to their church members.
Judgment is coming for false teachers. Yet believers can be perpetrators of their false doctrines; they can be sheep who are infected with โwolf disease.โ
Matthew 7:21-27
โ 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
