• The forex market is generally considered open on Columbus Day.
• Since the forex market is global, it is not completely shut down by a U.S. federal holiday. 
• However, because Columbus Day is a U.S. federal holiday (banks and the U.S. bond market are typically closed), you may experience reduced liquidity and thinner trading volumes for U.S. Dollar (USD) currency pairs. This can lead to wider spreads and potentially more volatile or unpredictable price movements.
