Traders operate in different “platforms” – markets. Each market has its own rules, instruments and risks. Let's take a look at the main markets.
1. The stock market (stocks). Here, we trade shares in companies such as Apple, Tesla and Gazprom. The goal is to buy low and sell high. Advantages: regulated and transparent, offers dividends. Cons: trading is only possible during specific sessions and growth is slower than in the crypto market.
2. Cryptocurrency market. We trade digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. It operates 24/7 and is subject to very high volatility (prices can change rapidly). Pros: accessibility, high profit potential. Cons: high risk, little regulation and a lot of fraud.
3. Foreign exchange market (Forex). We trade currency pairs (e.g. EUR/USD, USD/JPY). It is the most liquid market in the world. Pros: high liquidity and available leverage. Cons: requires a deep understanding of macroeconomics.
4. The derivatives market (futures and options). Rather than trading the asset itself, we trade contracts for its future delivery. So, what should a beginner choose?
