قال الشيخ عبد الله الجديع:
ليس كلُّ ما عند الآخر (غير المسلم) باطلًا، بل عند الآخر ما قامتْ به الحضارة.
وهناك سؤالٌ بسيط ينبغي لكلّ عاقلٍ أن يسأله: الحضارةُ الغربيّة في المالِ خاصّة، لمّا تقومُ هذه الحضارةُ على مدى قرون وهي حضارةٌ ناجحة، لماذا هذا ينجحُ؟
لماذا المُرابي والذي يبيعُ الخمر ينجحُ والأمّةُ المُسلِمة مضروبةٌ على رأسها؟
نتكلّم هنا عن أسبابِ النهضة، وأسبابُ النهضة أسبابٌ طبيعيّة يأخذُ بها البشرُ في أيّ بقعةٍ على وجهِ الأرضِ دونَ النظرِ إلى مِلّتِهم.
لأنّهم إذا نَهَضُوا فهناك سببٌ للنهضة، وما تقول هي نهضةٌ يوميّة لكن نهضة طويلة المدى يقابلُها أمّة في هبوطٍ مستمرّ هي أمّة الإسلام.
وفاقدُ الشيء لا يعطيه.

وقال أيضا:
في اعتقاده أنّ ضعف الأمّة الأساس هو الضعف الاقتصادي، لأنّ فينا القرّاء وحفّاظ القرآن وأصحاب الذكر وأصحاب الليل والصوّام والعبّاد.
وأعداءُ الإسلام يريدون لأهل الإسلام أن يبقَون أمّةً ضعيفة تابعة.

Today I'll be discussing Sh. Yusuf al-Qaradawi's famous 'al-Halal wa al-Haram fi al-Islam' at 7:30pm InSha'Allah (that's around three hours from now). I'll send the Zoom link closer to time.

I plan to discuss Sh. Qaradawi's approach to Fiqh, and some background behind the book which is probably his most famous work.

Sh. Albani had also written a takhrij on the work, so I plan to discuss that as well as the reason behind Sh. Qaradawi's authorship on his book on music. Spoiler: they're connected

قال الشيخ عبدُ الله الجُديع:
'التشبُّه' على وزنِ تفعُّل وفيه إرادةٌ وقصدٌ وتكلّفٌ، مثل التشجُّعِ والتحمُّلِ والتفقُّهِ.
حرمةُ التشبُّهِ في القرآنِ في سياقِ التشبُّهِ بالكافرينَ في كُفرِهم والفاسقينَ في فِسقِهم والظالمينَ في ظُلمِهم. وليسَ في القرآنِ كلامٌ على الهيئاتِ الظاهرةِ.

هناك نصوصٌ للتشبّهِ في السحورِ وقصِّ الشاربِ واللِّحيةِ والصبغِ.
- والحديثُ في السحورِ يدلُّ على نعمةِ الله علينا برَحمتِه بنا.
- وقصُّ الشارب أيضا يتعلّقُ بأمرِ الطعامِ والشرابِ والرائحةِ، ولأجلِ ذلك جاءَ التأكيدُ فيه أشدّ، حتّى بعض أهل العلم قالَ بالوجوب، وبعضهم بالَغُوا فيه إلى حدِّ الحلق لأنّ النبيَّ (صلى الله عليه وسلم) قال: 'مَن لمْ يأخذْ مِنْ شاربِه فليسَ مِنّا'.

وليسَ في هذه الأشياءِ وفي هذا البابِ حديثٌ في سياق العقائدِ ولا في المسائلِ الكلّيّاتِ. هذه في مسائلِ الأخلاقِ والآدابِ وقضايا تعودُ إلى الأكملِ والأفضلِ والأحسنِ.

أمّا حديثُ 'مَن تشبَّهَ بقومٍ فهوَ منهم'، فهو إجمالٌ وهذا لو صحّ الحديثُ، وهو ضعيفٌ. والإجمالُ يُعاد فيه إلى التفسيرِ والبيانِ.

In 2024, I took Sh. Abdullah al-Judai's course on Ifta' and shared these personal recordings with my lovely Usul al-Fiqh cohort. I'm sure some will find this interesting, so I share them here.

Note: at the end of the recording on persistent twilight, I mentioned Sh. Judai's view on combining Maghrib and Isha before the period of persistent twilight, particularly when Isha gets very late (and there is difficulty). I said this is what he mentions in his paper on the topic, which is an error on my part - he rather mentioned this to me in person. In his paper, he only alluded to this and focused mainly on Isha after persistent twilight. (I may have a future live session on the topic where I explore this further.)
