πŸ’‘AlphaTauri's changes go far beyond their name!

πŸ‘€Other teams better watch out for them:
>Last year the car improved massively after introducing RedBull's rear suspensions
>The collaboration will be much closer this year: check out that front suspension!🀝

The @visacashapprb is much closer to the dominant RB19 than to its predecessor!πŸ’‘

🟒 Pull-rod front suspension
βœ… Thinner rod (higher tensile vs compressive fibres strength)➑️Better airflow management, lighter
❌ More setup time

🟑 Inclined wishbone

🟣 Thin sidepods intake

Is this the new Ferrari?πŸ‘€

πŸ”΄SF23 vs SF24 wind tunnel model (photo taken in October)

-Rear suspension still pull-rod
-Disconnected rear wing tips on high-load wing (never seen before)
-Reworked engine cover with different cooling outlets

The final car will be further updated!

RacePace - First 10 races

πŸ”΅ Redbull was on average 0.387s clear of the second-fastest team in the first 10 races of 2023

Monaco had mixed conditions; in the dry πŸ”΅ Verstappen was on average 0.185 quicker than
🟒 Alonso in the Aston Martin.

The new AstonMartinF1features a significant change: a switch from pull-rod to push-rod rear suspension!πŸ’‘

Dan Fallows: β€œWe inherited the new Mercedes push-rod suspension”. (FORMU1A.UNO)

He added that the team focused on improving the car’s aero efficiency (less drag).

THE NEW ASTON SIDEPODS🟒

The AMR23 was an excellent building base: the team started from that concept and integrated a massive undercut under the sidepod.

They also added β€˜RB-style’ lips in front of the air inlets (circled).

What’s your impression? πŸ‘€

Mercedes went for 'revolution' rather than 'evolution'!πŸ’‘

🟑Completely different sidepods inlets, even vs their mid-season update
🟣Much more inclined upper wishbone
πŸ”΄Different nose-wing attachment point
βšͺ️Wing looks very elaborate

Will they make this concept work?πŸ€”

πŸ’‘After just 12 months, Mercedes looks unrecognisable:

-Sidepods: 'zero-pod'➑️uniquely shaped inlets
-Rear suspension: pull-rod➑️push-rod
-Radically different front upper wishbone orientation

The front wing is unique, and I love the livery!
Impressive! πŸ”₯

In 2023, Lewis Hamilton was critical about how much forward the Mercedes' cockpit was located...

The team seems to have followed his input for the W15πŸ’‘

The cockpit seems to have moved backwards (by 100mm, according to @Giorgio_Piola).

Just an optical effect?πŸ€”

Stable rules➑️Convergence in designπŸ’‘

The new Aston Martin AMR24 and Ferrari SF24 look much more similar than in the previous years πŸ”

As sub-optimal design choices are discarded, engineers are left with fewer options❌

Will we see a tighter field this year?πŸ€”

The new RB20 has… NO SIDEPODS INLETS?!?😜

Definitely a trolling act by their graphic designers…

What are we going to call this? The β€˜no-pods’?πŸ€”πŸ‘€

SF24 vs RB20πŸ”Ž

Notable differencesπŸ‘‡
🟒Push vs Pull-Rod
Carbon fibre's tensile strength is higher: look at how thin RedBull's rod is!➑️Lower mass and airflow disruption
🟣Different wishbone inclination
βšͺ️Underbite vs Overbite
🟠Different upper-plane load distribution
Not to mention each team's signature difference: smaller triangular vs larger circular airscope
❀8πŸ‘6😒3😨1
The 🟠 McLaren MCL38 and πŸ”΅Red Bull Racing RB20 share several traitsπŸ’‘

βœ…Downwashing sidepods
βœ…Early, deep undercut
βœ…Overbite (shorter on the McL)
βœ…Cannon shoulders
βœ…Round, large airscope

Main differences:
❌Sidepods inlets
❌Rear wing design

Can you spot a few more?😏
