You can also choose whether to send the original voice message or its text version.
In the experimental settings, you can also enable a new voice recorder that uses RNNoise to remove background noise before encoding the audio into Opus format. However, noise suppression may affect the recording quality of music or very quiet speech.
!!! UPD: This feature has been removed. It was a temporary experiment by one of the developers, available only in the Beta version. However, the experimental improvements to voice message recording are still available.

Forwarded from Telegram Designers
The gap between “what if…?” and “look, it works!” has never been smaller, and that changed how we build features in Telegram.
Message @designers to submit your concepts.
– Working, ready-to-implement code
complemented by
– A demo video of your feature in action
– Static mockups
– Demo videos with no code behind them
– Text-only concepts
No coding background? Curiosity, attention to detail and a good prompt will take you far.
The future of design isn’t drawn – it’s built.
(An example of what is possible by our iOS designer – this is a ready to use implementation not a motion video.)

Telegram Is Testing a News Feed and Personalized Recommendations Again
A separate “News” tab for viewing channel posts in a unified feed has appeared in Telegram for macOS Beta 13.0 (283318). The @telelakel channel reported the discovery.
How the news feed works
The current implementation of the post feed has several key features:
• Two sections: The “News” tab is divided into two sections — “Added” and “For You”.
• Custom feed: In the “Added” section, users can manually curate their feed by adding and removing selected channels through dedicated interface actions.
• Personalized recommendations: The “For You” section curates posts based on the user’s interests. Categories of interest (each with its own name and emoji) can be selected manually and changed over time. However, it remains unknown what algorithm powers this feed and whether it will include posts from channels the user isn’t subscribed to.
• Navigation and speed: The feed interface includes a search bar, pull-to-refresh, a new posts indicator, and a button to mark posts as read. Directly from the feed, users can open individual posts and channels, jump to chats, and copy links. For faster browsing, media files, profile pictures, and stories are preloaded in the background.
Background and context
The messenger’s team has been approaching the creation of a unified feed for eight years:
• The ability to combine channels into a unified news feed first appeared in the Beta version of Telegram for macOS back in January 2018, but was soon disabled on the server side.
• In April 2022, a commit confirming the development of a news feed was spotted in the official Telegram for iOS repository, though the feature never made it to release.
• Meanwhile, between 2019 and 2021, Telegram held a series of large-scale contests focused on news ranking and data clustering, as well as identifying channel languages and topics.
• Until now, the primary way to read subscriptions sequentially in the messenger has been the gesture for jumping to the next unread channel, while algorithmic recommendations have been limited to the “Similar Channels” list and the “Channels” tab in global search.
@tginfo editors note that introducing an algorithmic feed in the spirit of X (formerly Twitter) could significantly reshape how content is consumed in the messenger. For creators, it is a potential source of free organic traffic without buying ads, and for Telegram itself — a way to boost audience engagement and increase impressions for official ads.
Currently, the news feed is disabled on the server side and remains in development — its mechanics and appearance may change by the time of release.

Telegram Introduces Free Message Links and an Updated QR Code Editor
The personal profile QR code screen has been updated in the Beta versions of Telegram for iOS 13.0.1, Telegram for macOS 13.0, and Telegram for Android 13.1. Alongside new appearance settings, the messenger now allows users to generate special links and QR codes that let others message them for free even when paid messages are enabled.
How it works
If you have set a fee in Stars for incoming messages, a “Remove message fee” button now appears below your profile QR code.
When activated, it appends a randomly generated access token to your profile link. Your regular profile link will still require payment, while sending messages for free will only be available to those who follow the link or scan the QR code containing a valid token.
By default, the generated QR code is temporary and remains valid for 1 minute — this is handy when you want to show it to someone on your phone screen in person.
In the code management menu, you can adjust these settings: make the link permanent (Disable timer), limit its validity to one minute again (Expire after 1 minute), reset the token to invalidate the old link (Reset Code), or re-enable paid messages altogether (Restore message fee).
This feature is useful if you want to protect yourself from spam and unsolicited direct messages while still providing a “free” entry point on your website, on a business card, or in a private community where friends or potential clients might look for you, or if you want to automate link distribution via a bot.
New QR code design
Customizing the QR code’s appearance is no longer limited to preset themes: users can now pick colors from a wide palette, use any emoji as a background pattern, or select unique collectible gifts from their profile (the latter requires a Telegram Premium subscription).
Because of this, only the account owner can now manage the appearance of their QR code screen. Any decorations applied to the link’s design are visible to other users.

1. News Feed and Personalized Recommendations
A separate News tab has been added for viewing posts from channels. Based on the implementation, it will have two sections — Added and For You.
In the «Added» section, users will be able to manually add channels to their news feed or remove them. Separate actions for adding and removing channels from News have been implemented, allowing users to create their own feed from selected sources.
The second section «For You» is designed for personalized recommendations. Users will be able to select categories based on their interests, which will be used to generate a feed of posts. Each category can have its own name and emoji, and selected interests can be changed later.
The new interface also includes search, pull-to-refresh, an indicator for new posts, and the ability to mark them as read. Media files, avatars, and stories can be preloaded for faster browsing.
Users will also be able to open posts and channels directly from the feed, copy links, and navigate to the corresponding chats.
It is still unknown exactly how «For You» recommendations will be generated and whether they will include posts from channels the user is not subscribed to.
2. Converting Voice Messages to Text
A new dictation system has been added that will allow users to convert their own voice messages into text directly while recording (this feature was previously introduced on Android but was later removed)
Users will be able to switch to transcription mode, where their recorded speech will be recognized and displayed as text. The resulting text can then be reviewed, manually edited, and sent as a regular message instead of a voice message.
A separate interface has been prepared for editing, sending, and canceling transcriptions. A gesture for switching from voice recording to its text version has also been implemented.
Speech recognition supports automatic language detection, gradual display of the recognized text, and a progress indicator. This means users will be able to see the text while it is being processed, rather than waiting for recognition to finish completely.
The feature will use macOS system speech recognition mechanisms. Processing will take place directly on the Mac whenever possible.
3. Gram Wallet Card Customization
A new system for customizing the wallet card using NFT Gifts. Users will be able to place their own gifts on the card as decorative elements, manually adjusting their position, size, and rotation angle. A separate editor is being developed for this, with support for dragging, selecting, and removing gifts from the card.
Several visual effects have also been found in the code, including bending, wave distortion, shine, and shadows. In addition to placing gifts on the card's surface, users will also be able to use an NFT as the card's background.
!!! Only NFT gifts owned by the wallet and stored on the TON blockchain will be supported.
Another restriction has also been discovered, if a gift is already displayed on the user's profile, it cannot be used to customize the wallet card at the same time. The gift must first be hidden from the profile.
The editor will also check gift ownership, duplicate items, and the allowed number of decorative elements. The exact limit of gifts that can be placed on a single card is not yet known.
Customization changes are designed to be saved on the server, meaning the card's appearance will not be limited to local settings on a single device.
In addition, components for displaying the wallet card in user information have appeared. This may mean that users will be able to display their NFT-customized wallet card on their profile, although the exact display mechanism and privacy settings have not yet been determined.

If a user has paid messages enabled, they will be able to create a special QR code or link that allows other users to message them without paying Stars.
This is done through the new QR Studio editor (in the profile), which includes a Remove message fee option. When enabled, a special server-issued token is added to the profile link.
The link will have the following format
https://t.me/username?nopaidtoken=[token]A regular profile link will not bypass the message fee — a valid token is required.
There are also options for managing access through these links:
× Expire after 1 minute — creates a temporary code that expires after one minute.
× Restore message fee — restores the message fee for access through the code.
× Refresh code — allows users to generate a new code, making the previous one invalid.
This means users with paid private messages will be able to let specific people contact them for free without disabling paid messages for everyone.
You can also customize the appearance of your QR code using an NFT gift from your profile.
