Telegram Beta Update Brings ZXing Upgrade and Scheme Fix

Telegram has released a new beta update featuring a ZXing library upgrade to version 3.5.4 ( ZXing (“Zebra Crossing”) is an open-source library commonly used for QR codes and barcode scanning/processing. This likely means dependency updates, bug fixes, or security/compatibility improvements rather than a visible new Telegram feature.) and a fix for the app’s scheme layer. The changes appear to focus on improving QR/barcode-related functionality and the handling of Telegram links and deep links.

💬 Comments for NFT Gifts. When purchasing an NFT Gift to another user, you will be able to leave an additional comment with it.

→ The comment can be either public or private.
→ You don't have to add a comment to the gift, but if you leave "Make message public" enabled, other users will be able to see who purchased the gift for the recipient.
→ When other users view this gifted NFT with a comment on your profile, they will be able to see who sent the gift.
→ The maximum comment length is 128 characters.
→ The comment disappears when the gift is transferred.

In short, it’s essentially like leaving a personal note on someone’s profile using an NFT Gift, rather than the regular comments currently available on NFT Gifts.

💎 Telegram has applied for the .gram domain zone.

If the application is approved by ICANN, a billion Telegram users could get their own second-level domains.

🖥 For example, @durov would get durov.gram, and @monk would get monk.gram.

Users would be able to set up their interactive websites hosted by Telegram — just by typing one prompt ✨
