Telegram Announced the Second Stage of Android Contest

Task: Based on the official app's source code, and exactly following the provided design, add reactions to messages feature.

Conditions:
• Only first 35 winners of the first stage are welcome to participate.
• Authors of the best submissions will have a chance to join the Telegram team.

How to apply: The opportunity to upload the finished work will appear closer to the end of the contest - the @ContestBot bot will be used for this. The start of the acceptance of works will be announced separately in the @contest_ru channel.

Telegram desktop beta got a feature to rename the current device which will be shown in devices section.

This will be useful for users who uses multiple devices for easy identification.

Telegram introduces a new user authentication system

In the upcoming update, the messenger will change the authorization system. The principle of the scheme is that when entering the application, a call will be made to the number associated with the account, the user needs a few digits from this number. The new system will not completely replace the old one, but will be introduced to some mobile devices.

In addition, in the next updates, there may be an option to remember the Telegram application of the account from which the user previously logged into the system. This will significantly reduce the amount of time needed to login.

The likely reason for this step is saving money to meet the needs of the project; user verification via SMS requires about a quarter of all funds.

Remember that earlier authorization via SMS was removed from Telegram clients for PC and from browser versions of Telegram.

Telegram has started sending out messages to client developers to make two changes for non-disruption of the app usage

- Support for int64 IDs as soon as possible
- Support for Sponsored Messages by January 1, 2022

Telegram is switching to a new user ID system. Because of that, Telegram disabled signing up on old versions of Telegram apps.

To keep access to all features of the messenger, it's strongly recommended to update your app to the most recent version.

Telegram will work correctly if your app is as old or newer than:

— Telegram X for Android 0.24.0.1439
— Telegram for iOS 8.2.2
— Telegram Desktop 3.2.5
— Telegram macOS 8.2.0.

Don't worry if your device is 32bit: 32bit processors can work with 64bit numbers.

Telegram has stopped the ability to load the messages for outdated clients.
