🌀 C2 long run comparison!!!

Leclerc Avg time on C2: 1.34.750
Norris Avg time on C2: 1.34.390

👁 But we don’t know how much fuel they’re using during their stints.

Kimi's girlfriend doing her homeworks🤣
On the real though, Ferrari had a much lower energy deployment setting in the final stint. You can see this with the amount of clipping at the end of straights. (compound offset here) This is the case on majority of lap in stint 3, around 7kph down on average EOSS.

I tried to create a correction factor for fuel, compound offset and track evolution, to compare the stints which were done out of sync, but the truth is at the point I would be making too many assumptions, and that is worth nothing.

I will say that I think the gap is much, much smaller than it appeared today (2.5 tenths), but it safe to assume that McLaren are ahead at the moment, that includes the other 2 cars, in my opinion. The car in turns 4-8-10 clearly ahead. No balance limitations.

One thing to keep in mind is that we don't yet have a reference for temperature operating window, where Ferrari typically had problems in the cold last season. Bahrain is quite cold for this test. Whether this is solved or not, we do not know, but it is, potentially, partially a reason for inflating the gap.

Also consider that Pirelli themselves have mentioned the C2 much closer to the C3 than it is to the C1. C2 compound at the end, with track evo still ramping due to the sporadic drizzle throughout the session, is much better at the end of a race compared the C1.

They both did complete race distances so I don't think fuel load place a massive role in these race runs.

⚙️ What I see today is that tire degradation is much higher than yesterday. Drivers can’t set multiple fast laps in a row, and long runs aren’t as good as they were yesterday.
