Music theory via composition #1

Я придумал новый способ преподавать теорию музыки (=мою шизу про крашеные пиано-роллы и про нотные структуры в разных стилях и композиторах). Я разбираю с вами несколько похожих произведений, после чего даю вам задание посочинять в том же стиле.

Плот-твист: никаких предварительных знаний не требуется. Мне не важно, умеете ли вы читать ноты, было ли у вас сольфеджио, играете ли вы на чём-то и писали ли вы музыку в разных там аблетонах.

Я сделал свой текстовый нотный редактор и для сочинения я дам вам набранные в нём произведения из лекции. Так я убираю боязнь чистого листа: вы можете их менять и миксовать, а не писать всё с нуля.

У меня даже фортепиано теперь своё в браузере.

12:00 Моя лекция про четыре простейших вальса Шуберта на два аккорда
13:00 Самостоятельная работа: вы пробуете сочинить что-то похожее. Захватите ноут, ставить ничего не нужно

We take the 2-layer MLP (with BatchNorm) from the previous event and backpropagate through it manually without using PyTorch autograd's loss.backward(): through the cross entropy loss, 2nd linear layer, tanh, batchnorm, 1st linear layer, and the embedding table. Along the way, we get a strong intuitive understanding about how gradients flow backwards through the compute graph and on the level of efficient Tensors, not just individual scalars like in micrograd. This helps build competence and intuition around how neural nets are optimized and sets you up to more confidently innovate on and debug modern neural networks.
