The family and legal team of Palestinian activist and New Jersey resident Leqaa Kordia announced that all contact with her has been lost after she was urgently transferred from the Prairieland ICE detention center in Texas to an undisclosed medical facility last Friday.

According to reports from inside the detention center, Kordia suffered a severe medical emergency on February 6, including a head injury and a seizure. U.S. immigration authorities refused to disclose her location or current medical condition, while her lawyers confirmed contacting 16 hospitals across the Dallas-Fort Worth area with no record of her admission.

Kordia was arrested on March 13, 2025, during a routine immigration appointment, amid concerns that her continued detention is linked to her participation in the 2024 Columbia University pro-Gaza protests, despite prior court orders granting her release on bond.

Her family holds U.S. authorities fully responsible for her safety and is calling for urgent international and human rights intervention to reveal her whereabouts.
