‏یکی از عملیات مداوم تیمهای امنیت در سازمانها و شرکت های مختلف اسکن کردن IP های داخلی و پابلیک متعلق به اون سازمان به منظور کشف آسیب پذیری های موجود در تجهیزات و نرم افزارها و رفع اونهاست
مرکز ملی امنیت سایبری انگلستان NCSC همین کار رو در مقیاس بسیار بزرگتری که شامل کلیه تجهیزات متصل به پابلیک IP های داخل این کشور هستند انجام داده تا لیستی از محصولات آسیب پذیر تهیه کنه و به صاحبان اونها مخصوصا اگر نهادهای دولتی هستند اطلاع بده. یکی از اهداف اینکار شناسایی برندهای آسیب پذیر و آمادگی جهت مقابله با حملات ‎سایبری علیه اونهاست
همچنین اگر شرکتی راضی نبود سرویسش توسط دولت اسکن کنه میتونه از طریق ایمیل پیگیری کنه
