WAEC begins registration for WASSCE resit examination!!!!.



The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has commenced the registration process for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, First Series.


According to a notice issued by WAEC, the registration period is ongoing and will close on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

This follows an announcement made by the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, John Kapi, on Tuesday, December 31.

Speaking on JoyNews AM Show, Mr Kapi stated that the new programme, referred to as WASSCE PC1, provides a faster route for students to improve their grades.


The WASSCE for Private Candidates provides an opportunity for candidates who wish to resit one or two papers without waiting an entire year.

This marks a significant shift from the previous system, where candidates had to wait for the next private exam cycle.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to visit the official WAEC website for detailed instructions and to complete their registration at accredited internet cafés approved by the council.


The First Series of the examination is set to take place from January 24 to February 15, 2025.


Candidates will have the opportunity to write various subjects under secure and standardized conditions, as part of WAEC’s efforts to maintain its high standards of credibility and integrity.

For further inquiries, candidates are encouraged to contact WAEC directly through its official communication channels.

JAMB ANNOUNCES COMMENCEMENT DATE FOR 2025 UTME/DE REGISTRATION

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the registration dates and guidelines for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Key Dates:
• Registration Period: January 15 – February 26, 2025.

• Mock Exam: March 7, 2025.

• Mock Slip Reprinting: April 10, 2025.

• Main Exam: April 18 – April 28, 2025.

• Results Release Date: April 30, 2025.

Registration Requirements:

1. National Identification Number (NIN): Obtainable from NIMC centres or the NIMC mobile app.

2. JAMB Profile Code: Text your NIN to 55019 or 66019 to generate this.

3. Valid Phone Number: Use the same number for all processes.

4. Email Address: For accessing your JAMB profile and details.

5. Academic Results: Submit O’level results (WAEC, NECO, or GCE). Awaiting results can be uploaded later.

6. ePIN Purchase: Costs N3,500, plus additional charges:
• ₦700 for registration
• ₦1,500 for UTME
• ₦1,500 for optional Mock-UTME

7. Personal Information: Include name, date of birth, gender, state of origin, and a passport photo.

8. Biometric Verification: Required for registration completion.

Registration Process:

1. Visit their website and create a profile using your NIN, email, and phone number.

2. Verify your profile via SMS and email.

3. Purchase an ePIN from authorized outlets (e.g., Zenith, Access, or FirstBank).

4. Visit a JAMB-approved CBT centre with all necessary documents (ePIN, NIN, results, passport photo).

5. Complete the form, select your exam date/centre, and undergo biometric verification.

6. Print your registration slip and receive a JAMB syllabus and e-brochure.

Total Registration Cost:

• ₦5,200 for the main UTME.

• ₦6,700 if opting for the Mock exam.

He explained that the new programme, referred to as WASSCE PC1, provides a faster route for students to improve their grades.
 
“Students who access their results now and realise they need to resit one or two papers have until 8th January to register online through our website or at WAEC-accredited internet cafés. The exams will take place from 24th January to 15th February 2025,” Mr Kapi stated.
