Some students spends a lot of time on hard questions putting themselves at risk.
JAMB has a maximum of 2 hours and your computer will submit automatically. Utilize your time well to avoid had I known
*HERE ARE 10 WAYS TO SAVE YOUR TIME.*
1. Learn how to read and analyse questions fast.
2. For questions you might still be contemplating on the answers you can leave or suspend them and move to the next to come back and revisit such questions.
3. Do not remove your eyes from your time.
4. Work with time. Using maximum of 2mins on a question.
5. The process of trying to use the calculator is usually time wasting try calculating it by yourself (usually faster).
6. Do not spend too much time trying to assimilate a passage. You should be able to read and digest fast. .
7. Don't sleep on questions..... Be quick so as to have some left over time to check your work. .
8. For those that will be writing mathematics be sure not to be a calculator person. You should be able to work out solutions fast on your sheet of paper.
9. Once you don't have a clue on the answer to a particular question....don't relax and start thinking. Follow your instincts. Pick anyone you guess would be right and move on. .
10. Prior to the exam get a jamb past questions CBT app and practice with the time as many times as possible.
And I pray for you that after all these things you will check your result and smile!! Shout Amen!!

*JUST IN: JAMB RULES OUT INCREASE IN COST OF FEES FOR UTME AND DIRECT ENTRY 2026 CANDIDATES*๐ฅ๐
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given assurances that there would be no increase in the current application fees for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE), easing concerns among parents, guardians and prospective candidates amid prevailing economic pressures.
With the clarification, candidates preparing for the 2026 admission exercise would continue to pay N3,500 as the Computer-Based Test (CBT) fee and an additional N700 as service charge, in line with the existing cost regime.
The assurance was contained in a statement issued Monday by the Board via its official publication, JAMBulletin, titled โNo Likely Increase in UTME/DE Application Fees as JAMB Maintains Stable Cost Regime.โ
According to JAMB, it has not increased the cost of its application documents for either UTME or DE in the last nine years but has, in fact, reduced registration fees within the period under the current administration.
It partly reads: โThe Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board wishes to inform Nigerians, particularly parents, guardians and prospective candidates, that the Board has not increased the cost of its application documents, whether for UTME or Direct Entry, in the last nine years.โ
The Board further assured that it was โunlikely to increase the cost of application documents for the 2026 UTME/DE exercise, except where it becomes absolutely expedient to do so in the overriding interest of sustaining the integrity and quality of the examination process in the future.โ
JAMB explained that the decision aligns with the directive of President Bola Tinubu, conveyed through the Minister of Education, that all activities of the Board must reflect the administrationโs โhuman-face policies,โ while taking into account the harsh economic realities confronting Nigerian families.
โThis clarification is intended to properly guide members of the public who wish to plan ahead for the education of their children. The cost implication for the 2026 exercise remains largely the same as that of the previous year.โ
The examination body advised parents and guardians to make early preparations and ensure the timely registration of their wards once the process begins, warning that there would be no extension of the registration window.
JAMB also highlighted its financial prudence, noting that despite maintaining relatively low fees, it has continued to operate efficiently and remit substantial revenues to the Federal Government over the years.
โDespite this downward review of fees, the Board has continued to operate efficiently and prudently, resulting in substantial remittances to the Federal Government. This underscores JAMBโs commitment to accountability, transparency, and effective public-sector financial management.โ
Reaffirming its mandate, the Board stressed that it remains committed to fairness, affordability and transparency, while sustaining global best practices in the conduct of its examinations.
