🏕 The day marks the occasion when the Indian armed forces freed Goa in 1961 from 450 years of Portuguese rule.
🏕The Portuguese colonized several parts of India in 1510 but by end of the 19th century Portuguese colonies in India were limited to Goa, Daman, Diu, Dadra, Nagar Haveli, and Anjediva Island(a part of Goa).
As India gained independence on 15th August 1947.
🏕Following a myriad of unsuccessful negotiations and diplomatic efforts with the Portuguese, the former Prime minister of India.
🏕Jawaharlal Nehru, decided that military intervention was their only option.
🌴The Goa liberation movement its peak between 1940 to 1960.
🔶(SSC) - Palolem beach is located in Canacona in southern Goa.
🔶It is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in India.
🔶It was ranked the 20th best beach in Asia by TripAdvisor in 2018.

👉Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya on Friday created history by smashing the fastest-ever T20I fifty on Indian soil.
👉 The 32-year-old took 16 balls to score his half-century in the fifth T20I against South Africa in Ahmedabad.
👉Overall, it is the second-fastest fifty by an Indian after Yuvraj Singh's 12-ball fifty against England in Durban in 2007.

🌖 At the winter solstice the Sun travels the shortest path through the sky, and that day therefore has the least daylight and the longest night.
🌒The winter solstice, also called the hibernal solstice, occurs when either of Earth's poles reaches its maximum tilt away from the Sun.
🌘Kepler formulated three laws which are known as Kepler's laws of planetary motion. It states that all the planets move around the sun in orbit.
🌓 Summer Solstice (21 JUNE) is the longest day of the year which is considered as the start of the summer season.
🌓 Equinoxes is the points of intersection between the elliptic (the sun’s apparent annual path) and the celestial equator (the equator of the celestial sphere).
🌓 Equinox twice a year, day and night are about the same length in both the Southern and Northern Hemispheres.
