📌He had also served as the project director of India's first Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-III) at ISRO.

📌In 1992, he was appointed as the Scientific Adviser to the Defence Minister. With the rank of cabinet minister.

📌In 1999, he was appointed as the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.
