News is circulating that ICE agents just shot two more people in the Twin Cities. They are now firing tear gas at people at the scene of the shooting.

Do you want to live in a country in which fascist mercenaries go around shooting people at random?

If the answer is "No," you may have to shift your priorities to focus more energy on organizing and fighting back.

On January 14, after ICE carried out yet another shooting in Minneapolis, a crowd chased them out of the neighborhood and gained control of their vehicles.

Trump is now threatening to use the Insurrection Act to put troops on the streets of the Twin Cities, where federal mercenaries continue to terrorize, kidnap, and shoot civilians.

He is threatening to do this because ICE lost in the streets last night. After they shot a man, the responding crowd forced them to flee, abandoning their vehicles.

Here is Border Patrol “Commander at Large” Gregory Bovino, dressed as an officer, of the German Gestapo, shamelessly declaring that ICE is "ethical and moral" and even "peaceful" days after his men senselessly murdered a soccer mom, shot another person in the leg, and targeted thousands of people with tear gas and flash-bang grenades.

Likewise, after ICE pointlessly tear-gassed a vehicle containing four small children and a 6-month-old baby, nearly killing the baby, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin blatantly lied, claiming "DHS law enforcement NEVER targeted this family or their innocent children."

Whatever they say, it is a lie. Never believe a word. They do violence to the truth as eagerly as they do violence to human beings.

They will murder, kidnap, brutalize, and terrorize as long as they are permitted to.

Following the vandalism of at least 11 government vehicles or rentals driven by federal law enforcement at a hotel in Eagan, Minnesota last night, it's safe to say—you don't want to stay at a hotel that hosts ICE, or even park your vehicle there. You don't want to host them at your hotel, either.

Just last year, centrists were arguing that Democrats should adopt extreme-right anti-immigrant positions to keep up with what they claimed was the tide of public opinion.

Now nearly half of the population agrees that ICE should be outright abolished—and that number is only climbing.

If Democrats had abolished ICE in 2021, Donald Trump wouldn't have an army with which to impose autocracy.

Centrists have been complicit in the rise of authoritarianism every step of the way.

ICE has only existed since March 2003, by the way.

Abolish ICE.

Public attention has focused on the Twin Cities this month, where federal mercenaries are engaged in a rampage of kidnapping and murder, but ICE is still active across the country.

Yet this opens up opportunities to act in solidarity with those targeted by ICE by taking action elsewhere, revealing the weakness and unpopularity of federal forces and spreading their attention thin.

On January 10, participants in a march in Oakland smashed 47 windows at the federal building there and covered it with spray paint as a way to identify it as a base of ICE operations in the area.

A general strike is called for January 23 in response to the campaign of kidnapping and murder that ICE is carrying out in the Twin Cities.

This is a powerful step forward for resistance. But in the 21st century, a general strike must assume new forms to succeed.
