Transphobic vultures pretend that they have children's best interests at heart while attempting to dictate everything that children can dream or become without any consideration for their needs or their well-being. It is plain to see that transphobes don't actually care about children or anyone else—they are simply trying to consolidate their power, to control our lives through state oppression and censorship. They want everyone to be subject to patriarchy, confined by constrictive gender roles. They won't stop at attacking children—they will go on assaulting everyone who doesn't fit their narrow-minded scheme until we stop them.

On the Looming RICO Case in Atlanta

According to a prosecutor in Georgia, state prosecutors are preparing to charge local activists who oppose Cop City and the destruction of Weelaunee forest as a “criminal organization” under the RICO statute:

https://unicornriot.ninja/2023/atlanta-activists-say-prosecutors-plan-to-indict-them-on-rico-charges/

The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) was introduced in order to target illegal capitalist operations. However, corporations and police have repeatedly used RICO charges to intimidate perceived adversaries. The nonprofit organization Greenpeace faced RICO charges from 2016 to 2019, for example.

Elsewhere in the Southeast, North Carolina police brought RICO charges against members of the Latin Kings and Queens who were working to organize gang truces in their community:

Georgia prosecutors have used the same RICO statute to charge rappers Young Thug and Gunna, among others.

Atlanta police have already been trying to terrorize activists in the #StopCopCity movement, killing one and bringing terrorism charges indiscriminately against others.

We recall how in 2017, DC prosecutors attempted to send over 200 people to prison for decades just for participating in a march at Trump's inauguration. They were seeking to open the Trump era by setting a new precedent for how conspiracy charges could be used to crush movements. They ultimately failed, thanks to the solidarity and collective organizing of the defendants and their supporters.

That case is a useful reference for what could take place in Atlanta:

Las w mieście

https://crimethinc.com/2023/02/22/las-w-miescie-dwa-lata-obrony-lasu-w-atlancie

Kampania w obronie lasu w Atlancie stała się jednym z najbardziej żywiołowych ruchów ery po-trumpowej, przeplatając ekologizm z abolicjonizmem i walką z gentryfikacją.

Balance Sheet: Two Years against Cop City

http://crimethinc.com/AgainstCopCity

Starting in April 2021, a bold movement set out to defend Weelaunee Forest in Atlanta, Georgia, where local politicians and corporate profiteers want to build a police training compound known as Cop City. In the following assessment, participants evaluate the strategic hypotheses that the movement has produced and tested over the past two years and reflect on the risks and possibilities of the next phase of the struggle.

This is a sort of balance sheet concluding the history of the movement that we published last week, "The Forest in the City."

The government of New York City has agreed to pay $21,500 to each of hundreds of demonstrators who were penned in by the police in the Bronx during protests in June 2020.

This is only the latest example of something that has been happening for decades. Police systematically engage in millions of dollars worth of illegal activity on a regular basis. To the authorities, it's worth breaking their own laws and throwing millions of taxpayer dollars into settlements if it means that they can maintain control.

Nobody believes in the sanctity of law less than the cops and those who control them. No wonder anarchists don't, either.

One hundred and two years ago today, the first issue of the daily paper of the Kronstadt revolt appeared, chronicling the politics and day-to-day events of the uprising. You can read every issue of it in English here, along with a history of the revolt:

From Bolsheviks to right-wing conservatives, many different currents have spread falsehoods about who participated in the Kronstadt uprising and what their goals were. Fortunately, you can see for yourself by reading their own words.

This is the third issue of the Izvestia [news] of the Provisional Revolutionary Committee of Sailors, Soldiers, and Workers of the Town of Kronstadt, in the original Russian and as an English facsimile.
