Στις 18 Ιανουαρίου, κατά τη διάρκεια της τελευταίας στρατιωτικοποιημένης επιδρομής στο δάσος, η αστυνομία της Ατλάντα πυροβόλησε και σκότωσε ένα άτομο. Desde 20 de outubro de 2022, o preso anarquista italiano Alfredo Cospito está em greve de fome, exigindo ser libertado do confinamento solitário sob o regime “41bis”. Em 3 de fevereiro de 2023, ele passou 107 dias sem comer.

Alfredo perdeu mais de 40 quilos. Bobby Sands, o membro do Exército Republicano Irlandês que foi eleito para o Parlamento durante sua greve de fome em 1981, morreu após 66 dias sem comida. À beira da morte, Alfredo foi transferido para um centro médico. Sua vida está por um fio.
