RT @andrii_sybiha: Today, I wanted to begin my monthly FAC address with Europe. Because tonight we prepare to open the first negotiation cluster.

But of course I had to start with Russia’s ballistic and barbaric terror.

Seeing our thousand-year-old Kyiv Pechersk Lavra in flames this morning, I remembered similar images of Notre Dame seven years ago. Its reconstruction once became a cause for all of Europe.

Today, we need the same approach when it comes to our defense against ballistic missiles. Solutions are needed now to secure more Patriot batteries and PAC-3 missiles for Ukraine. Strategically, we need to build a European anti-ballistic defence system of our own. Ukraine is ready to contribute.

Russia’s terror kills. But it cannot change the course of the war.

I informed my EU colleagues about the success of our deep- and medium-range strike campaigns. Logistics Lockdown is already working. The occupiers no longer feel safe in the territories they occupy. And this is exactly how it must be.

I thanked my colleagues for the active preparation of the 21st sanctions package. An entry ban for Russian combatants is another strong sanctions step.

And we can still make the 21st package even stronger — for example, by introducing a ban on Russian aluminium.

The international dynamics are changing as well. It is time for Europe to step up even more confidently in peace efforts.

This week will be important. The G7 Summit lies ahead, including a scheduled meeting between the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States. We need American leadership to achieve a truly lasting peace.

I also shared ideas on new ways to strengthen Ukraine — and all of us — ahead of the NATO Summit in Ankara.

I addressed my EU colleagues from a train to Moldova. And I can hardly imagine a more fitting place today, as both our countries are about to open the first clusters in our accession talks.

Tonight, after the Intergovernmental Conferences in Luxembourg, Ukraine and Moldova will enter a fundamentally new phase of our EU integration.

The destination is full membership. And it is the best possible response to Russia’s escalating terror. Opening the five remaining clusters in the near future is the right way.

The time of half-measures has passed, together with the time of paper guarantees. We must also leave behind the concept of endless waiting rooms for candidates. In reality, they are merely decorated grey zones.

And no bilateral dispute can be placed above our common interests. No national sentiment is more important than the enlargement of the whole Union.

Tonight, the EU will become stronger.

Because we are always stronger together.

RT @kajakallas: Russia increased attacks on Ukrainian civilians again last night and carried out strikes that damaged a UNESCO World Heritage site in Kyiv.

These are war crimes, and Russia will have to answer for them.

In response, today we are adopting additional sanctions targeting Russia's military-industrial complex and its shadow fleet.

Every measure further restricts Russia's room for manoeuvre.

RT @eucopresident: The massive bombings and attacks overnight targeting civilians and the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a UNESCO site, are yet another reminder that Russia is continuing its escalation.

These attacks demonstrate Russia’s unwillingness to engage seriously in peace negotiations.

But time is not on Russia’s side.

When G7 Leaders meet in Evian today, we will discuss how to increase pressure on Russia to come to the negotiating table for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

RT @vonderleyen: Heavy attacks on Ukraine last night, with more civilians killed and the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a UNESCO site, seriously damaged.

Today, G7 leaders meet in Evian.

We will discuss the next steps to increase pressure on Russia, bring Putin to the negotiating table, and end this senseless killing.

Europe wants peace. Nobody more than the Ukrainian people. Russia, on the other hand, showed again its sole interest in violence and destruction.

Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the Russian strikes are ongoing in Kyiv, as well as in Kharkiv. Last night, the Russians launched more than 60 missiles at the capital alone. In total, 70 missiles and 611 drones were used against Ukraine. As of now, 28 people have been reported injured and four killed in the capital. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. A Russian strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra set the Dormition Cathedral on fire – a church whose history dates back to the 11th century. And this is one of Russia’s most serious crimes against Christian culture to date. The State Emergency Service has already extinguished the fire on the cathedral’s roof. In Kharkiv, the Russians carried out a repeat strike against our rescuers as they were putting out a fire at the site of an earlier strike on an industrial facility. So far, tragically, five people have been confirmed killed. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Nine people have been injured. In Dnipro, Russia struck the grounds of a railway station, a college, and several enterprises.

Other cities and communities were targeted as well. The Kyiv, Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Mykolaiv regions were also under attack. This is how Russia shows the world its intention to continue the war. It is very important that there be a response from the G7 countries, which are now gathering for their summit – and that this response be decisive and substantive: more pressure on the aggressor and more support for Ukraine’s air defense, especially anti-ballistic capabilities. I thank everyone who is helping us protect lives.

RT @eu_eeas: This has to end. 65 countries still criminalise consensual same-sex relations.

Words are not enough. In 2024, the EU supported 10,500 human rights defenders worldwide.

21% were LGBTIQ+.

Reliable. And that's the whole point.

🇺🇸 5 Tips for Travelers Planning a Trip to the United States ✈️

Don't wait — apply for your ESTA now! 🕐 Start your ESTA application as soon as you begin planning your trip — before you even buy your airline tickets.

Use the official website. 🔒 Make sure you're on the real ESTA site.

Got a new passport? You'll need a new ESTA. 📘 Any changes to your passport, name, or country of citizenship mean you must submit a new travel authorization.

Be honest on your application. Providing false or incomplete information on your ESTA application could make you ineligible to travel to the United States. It's not worth it!

Staying longer than 90 days? Apply for a visa instead. 📅 If you plan to stay beyond 90 days, apply for a U.S. visa before you travel.

RT @MartaKosEU: I spoke on the phone with Ukrainian Prime Minister @Svyrydenko_Y ahead of today’s opening of Ukraine’s first negotiation cluster.

We celebrated this important step, but I also expressed my horror at Russia’s latest attack, including on one of the most historic churches in Kyiv.

The courage of the Ukrainian people to defend themselves is also defending Europe.

I told the Prime Minister that our priority now is to keep momentum, and open the remaining clusters before summer.
