Global defence spending is rising.
Following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, defence spending accelerated sharply across Europe. After years of underinvestment, EU defence spending has increased by over 50% since 2021.
Stepping up investment in European Defence is necessary to protect EU citizens, peace in Europe and contribute to global stability.
