#Greece, European Parliament election today:

The parliamentary party Spartiates (*) is barred from running, with the country’s top court ruling that it did not fulfill the set requirements to contest the vote, as the real leader of the party is former XA spokesperson and MP, Ilias Kasidiaris, who is among the former Golden Dawn members that were found guilty of running a criminal organisation and are currently in prison.

#EU27, European Parliament election: Slovakia reports unofficial results via Dennik, with Hlas winning only one seat; our scenario for the proposed left-conservative M5S 🇮🇹 + BSW 🇩🇪 group now shows the group at the threshold of 23 seats legally required to form a group.

The group membership is based on ideological assumptions and has not been confirmed.

#EU27, European Parliament election today: Total reported turnout so far across the EU is edging towards 10%.

We estimate that this is 0.4 points higher than 2019, when we saw the highest final turnout since 1994.

This all excludes Greece, which would add another percentage point or so to the 2024 figures, but did not present 2019 turnout updates during the day.
