Sattvic, Rajasic & Tamasic Foods according to Ayurveda (www.heymonicab.com, 2009). Sattvic foods typically grow high above the ground, preferably close to the sun. The word Tamasic is acquired from βTamasβ. Tamas stands for inertia, dullness, inactivity, or lethargy.
