๐ธ#Climate_change killed off #Neanderthals, study says
โพ๏ธ#Homo_sapiens' closest relatives, the #Neanderthals, died off approximately 40,000 years ago, but the exact cause is still up for debate. Now, a new study suggests that #climate_change was a bigger part in their extinction than previously believed.
โช๏ธThe evidence is there that Europe experienced stark cold and dry spells, putting a strain on Neanderthals' food supply and ability to survive. Thanks to a group of researchers looking at stalagmites in Romania, we may have proof this was indeed the case.
โพ๏ธโFor many years we have wondered what could have caused their demise," said Dr. Vasile Erse, a co-author of the study and a senior lecturer at Northumbria University, in a statement. "Were they pushed โover the edgeโ by the arrival of modern humans, or were other factors involved? Our study suggests that #climate_change may have had an important role in the #Neanderthal_extinction.โ

โConviction of Turkish Dam and its Impact on Increasing Haze in Iranโ
Human Rights Council, Thirty-seventh session, 26 February-23 March 2018
Dear president of the council,
The construction of these dams has severely influenced and damaged the aquatic system of the two great rivers of Tigris and Euphrates, causing the abandonment of several million hectares of agricultural land in the Syrian and Iraqi countries, and creating a serious crisis in downstream of Hoor-al-azim; a crisis that has changed the strategic harbor of Hoor-al-azim into the largest crisis center of dust storms in the region.
