Have you ever noticed this correlation: the less sleep, the more colds?

American scientists from the University of California have found a pattern: reducing the quality of sleep and its duration has a noticeable impact on the immune system for the worse.

Participants in the experiment, which included 164 volunteers, were exposed to colds by applying special nasal drops, and then watched their resting regimen.

Respondents who slept less than 5 hours a night were 4.5 times more likely to catch a cold, as opposed to those who slept 7 or more hours.

Regular sleep deprivation is a serious blow to the immune system.
