There is a lot of confusion about when to use SAY and when to use TELL.

Here is a slide that can help a little.

🍁We use say for direct quotations.
- John said: ”I’m always tired.”
- Mike said: “I have a new job.”


🍁we use say for indirect quotations when we don’t mention the person being spoken to.
