A funny anecdote from family life! πŸ˜„

All girls and women can relate to this! πŸ‘±β€β™€πŸ‘©πŸ‘΅ I also sometimes want literally to teach my family members how to keep the house clean!

P.S. But at times I myself don't follow my own rules of household keeping. 🀭

Hello, dear subscribers!

Today I would like to share with you a very good handbook πŸ“• for IELTS Grammar.

As you know, IELTS writing is the toughest part for many candidates. Even though most students know grammar rules very well, they end up getting a low score in the writing section. πŸ™

I would say the problem lies in not knowing the specific criteria for Grammatical range and accuracy in IELTS writing.☝️

If you want to get 7 for your grammatical range and accuracy (GRA) in writing as well as speaking sections, it is worth learning the assessment criteria in depth. Have a look at what the public version of assesment criteria says.

To gain 7 for GRA in Writing Task 2, you need:

β˜‘οΈ to use a variety of complex structures such as Third or Mixed conditionals, Reduced relative clauses, Parallelism, Noun clauses, Adverbial Clauses, Nominalisation, Passive Voice and others.

β˜‘οΈto produce frequent error-free sentences which requires to have a good command of English grammar;

β˜‘οΈ to have a good control of punctuation rules;

The following book provides a very good insight into the required grammar patterns, sentence structures and other rules. The book is straightforward and concise, thus it won't take a lot of time to look through it.

The video which I promised! πŸŽ₯

In this video, I have collected TOP PRONUNCIATION MISTAKES made by my student and showed how to fix them according to BRITISH STANDARD PRONUNCIATION.

Majority of my students are Uzbek, and from my teaching experience I learnt that Uzbek students have several common pronunciation mistakes. So, I decided to collect some of them and explain in a video.

Disclaimer: There are different accents acceptable in English. Don't consider it as the only correct way.

Dear subscribers,

Most of you asked from me about listening materials 🎧. I decided to devote today’s post to this very topic.

This post will not be about tips to improve listening, but about books πŸ“š to practice listening skills. I recommend following a sequence while you are doing practice tests. Start from easy tests first, and then move on to more challenging ones.

While practicing your skills, make sure you are using only reliable sources. It goes without saying that test books published by Cambridge are the most reliable ones.

βœ… For section 1 and section 2, the best book is β€œ202 exercises” because this book contains many exercises of spelling names of people and places and writing down numbers.

βœ… Cambridge Official Guide to IELTS also includes very good 8 listening tests, the difficulty level of which is not too high.

βœ… Relatively easy tests are given Cambridge 14 and 13. First, finish the tests in these books.

βœ… Then you may continue in the reverse order, namely Cambridge 12, Cambridge 11, Cambridge 10 and others till Cambridge 4.

βœ… Only when you finish these tests, proceed to more challenging ones, such as Practice Tests Plus 2 (published by Longman) and Plus 3 (by Cambridge).

This is a very huge list of books and all of take a big amount of time. Do the listening tests one by one and analyze carefully all your mistakes.☝️

If you have another person who can check your listening answers for you, ask him/her to check only whether your answers are correct or incorrect and solve the questions which you couldn’t answer once again. You will see a marked improvement in your listening skills if you consistently work on your mistakes.

P.S. I am attaching β€œ202 exercises”.
