💢#Action_Verbs vs. #State_Verbs

🔷Action (Dynamic) Verbs are verbs that show action (like the name suggests).
Examples include:

jump, run, yell, sleep, hit, eat, talk, walk

🔷Non-action verbs (also called Stative verbs) are verbs about conditions or states, like:

think, feel , seem , appear , look , perceive , believe

🔶The main rule to remember with Action and Non-Action verbs is that we cannot use Non-Action verbs with the Progressive (-ing) tenses. For example:

I have a car. (NOT “I am having a car.”)
You seem tired. (NOT “You are seeming tired.”)
She looks pretty. (NOT “She is looking pretty.”)

🔶This is a general rule that all students learn. However, like many other rules in English, there are times when we break them! There are times when it is OK to use Non-Action verbs with the Progressive tenses, but when we do, the meaning of the sentence can change. Look at how we break the rules with the following verbs, all of which are normally Non-Action.

1. “See” vs. “Seeing”

🔺“See” is a Non-Action verb that usually means ” to see with your eyes.” Sentences like “I see her sitting on the park bench”, “I see a cat”, or “I see a large airplane” are all examples of how we normally use “see”. We do not say “I am seeing her sitting on a park bench”, or “I am seeing a cat”.

Because “see” is a Non-Action verb, we normally cannot use it with “-ing”.

🔺 However, we CAN say “I am seeing him.” What does this sentence mean? It means that you are dating him!

“I see him”. (I can see her with my eyes.)
“I am seeing him.” (We are dating.).
2. “Think” vs. “Thinking”

🔺“Think” usually means “to have an opinion.”

“I think I like her.”
“I think the purple shirt looks best on you.”
“I think I will take the yellow dress.”

🔺However, “think” can also mean “I have been thinking about something recently.” For example:

“I am thinking about moving to London.”
“I am thinking about buying a new car.”
“I am thinking about changing jobs.”

3. “Have” vs. “Having”

🔸have(own): state verb.
I have a car.
🔸have (part of an expression): action veb.
I'm having a birthday party tomorrow.

Have is a strange Non-Action verb: depending on what you put after it, it is OK for you to use it in the Progressive.

“I am having a good time.”
“We are having lunch tomorrow.”
“I am having a party this weekend.”
“She is having a difficult time with her new job.”

“The couple is having a baby.”

🔺Memorizing the meanings of the Progressive and Simple Present expressions that can be used with “having” (and practicing the phrases often) is the only way to learn how to properly use “have” and “having”.

زمان حال ساده در زبان انگلیسی - The Present Simple tense in English

از زمان حال ساده (I go, He goes, etc.) برای صحبت کردن درباره ی حقایق، چیزهایی که همیشه صحت دارند، یا برای عادات و روتین ها استفاده کنید.

برای مثال:

In England it often snows in winter. (a fact) در انگلستان معمولاً در زمستان برف می بارد. (یک حقیقت)
I live in London (true – I don't change my house every day)من در لندن زندگی می کنم. (من هرروز محل زندگی ام را عوض نمی کنم.)
John eats eggs for breakfast (routine or habit) جان برای صبحانه تخم مرغ می خورد. (روتین یا عادت)

چطور در انگلیسی فعل حال ساده بسازیم؟

برای ضمایر I, You, We, They از مصدر فعل استفاده می کنیم. برای HE, She, It به انتهای فعل s, es, ies اضافه می کنیم.

I play tennis من تنیس بازی می کنم.
You play tennis تو تنیس بازی می کنی.
He/She plays tennis او تنیس بازی می کند.
We play tennis ما تنیس بازی می کنیم.
They play tennis آن ها تنیس بازی می کنند.

به انتهای فعل هایی که به –ss, -sh, -ch, -tch ختم می شوند، es اضافه کنید.

I kiss / He kisses من می بوسم / او می بوسد
I wish / She wishes من آرزو می کنم / او آرزو می کند
I watch / It watches من تماشا می کنم / او تماشا می کند
I touch / She touches من لمس می کنم / او لمس می کند
I study / She studies من درس می خوانم / او درس می خواند

(The y changes to ies for verbs that end in 'consonant + y')

در فعل هایی که به صامت+Y ختم می شوند، y به ies تغییرشکل می دهد. (Study, Studies)

در فعل حال ساده ی انگلیسی (بجز فعل to be و افعال Modal) برای ایجاد پرسش یا فعل منفی، به یک فعل کمکی نیاز دارید. این فعل کمکی برای حالت پرسشی do/does و برای حالت منفی don't/doesn't است.

فعل زمان حال ساده ی منفی در انگلیسی

برای ایجاد فعل منفی از فعل کمکی don't برای ضمایر I, you, we, they، و از فعل کمکی doesn't برای ضمایر he, she, it استفاده کنید و پس از آن مصدر فعل اصلی را بیاورید.

برای مثال:

I don't live here من اینجا زندگی نمی کنم
You don't live here تو اینجا زندگی نمی کنی
She doesn't live here او اینجا زندگی نمی کند
We don't live here ما اینجا زندگی نمی کنیم
They don't live here آن ها اینجا زندگی نمی کنند

فعل live در همه ی جمله های بالا، در شکل مصدر بکار رفته است.

شکل پرسشی زمان حال ساده ی انگلیسی

برای پرسیدن سوال، از Do/Does به عنوان فعل کمکی استفاده کنید. از Do برای ضمایر I, you, we, they و از فعل کمکی Does برای ضمایر he, she, it استفاده کنید.

ترتیب اجزای جمله در پرسش حال ساده اینطور است:

Question word (optional) – auxiliary – subject – verb

برای مثال:

Where do you live? تو کجا زندگی می کنی؟
What does he do? او چکار می کند؟
What does this computer program do? این برنامه ی کامپیوتری چکار می کند؟
Why do they argue all the time? چرا آن ها دائماً بحث می کنند؟
Do you like tennis? آیا تنیس دوست داری؟

در پرسش آخر کلمات پرسشی what, why, where وجود نداشتند، درنتیجه پرسش با فعل کمکی Do شروع شد.

فعلی که بعد از فعل کمکی می آید حالت مصدری دارد.

پاسخ های کوتاه به انگلیسی

شما می توانید سوال هایی که با Do…? یا Does…? شروع می شوند را با یک پاسخ کوتاه پاسخ بدهید. در پاسخ خود از do/don't یا does/doesn't استفاده کنید، نه از مصدر فعل.

مثال:

Do I sign here? Yes, you do / No you don't.
Do you work here? Yes I do / No I don't.
Does she speak Spanish? Yes she does / No she doesn't.
Do we take this train? Yes, we do / No we don't.
Do they do their homework? Yes, they do / No they don't.

اشتباهات رایج در استفاده از فعل زمان حال ساده ی انگلیسی

سعی کنید هنگام استفاده از فعل حال ساده ی انگلیسی این اشتباهات را انجام ندهید.

حالت مثبت

He live in London. (Correct: He lives in London.)
He does live in London. (Correct: He lives in London)

حالت پرسشی

He does live in London? (Correct: Does he live in London?)
Does live he in London? (Correct: Does he live in London?)

حالت منفی

He don't live in London. (Correct: He doesn't live in London.)
He doesn't lives in London. (Correct: He doesn't live in London.)

برای مفهوم آسیب دیدن و زخمی شدن ما سه تا کلمه پرکاربرد در زبان انگلیسی داریم که خیلی هم شنیدیم. اما باید دقت کنیم که در جای درست استفادشون کنیم.
Wounded , hurt , injured

✳️ زمانی که در مورد آسیب دیدگی در تصادف یا مبارزه صحبت میکنیم، باید از hurt یا injured استفاده کنیم و اگه wounded رو بکار ببریم اشتباه خواهد بود.
