Would you like a pet?

Hello, my name is Bianca and I'm from North Carolina in the United States. My question is, would you like a pet?

And yes, I would like a pet. In the past, I've had two dogs and one cat, all at different times, but I enjoyed every single one of them. And I actually still miss them to this day. Although pets can be a lot of work and they may be somewhat expensive. You have to clean the litter box, if you have a cat. You have to take dogs on a walk. You have to take the animals to the vet, and you have to buy their food, and their bedding, and things like that. Despite all of that, I think pets are well worth it. I also find it intriguing that although animals don't speak in the way that humans do, they're still able to express themselves very well and they can be pretty funny as well.

So if I could get a pet right now, and maybe I will, I have to think about it, I would most likely get a cat. And I would get a cat because they don't require loads of attention. They're pretty solitary animals, except when they want to have attention. And they're pretty funny. I enjoy observing them while they play, or while they sleep, or while they try to get into a paper bag. And I just think that they're very cuddly and affectionate too.

How do you feel about pets?

Hi. My name is Eulices, and I'm from Costa Rica. My question is, how do you feel about pets?

Pets are great. They are this type of animal that has kind of evolved alongside us, so they are very used to our presence and they tend to be very calming. They relax us, and they're often used in therapy for people who have different kinds of problems.

There are only two negative sides to pets, I think. The first one is that people forget that most pets are animals, and they tend to treat them like they were persons, and they normally don't like that. There are studies that show, for example, that dogs don't like to be hugged, but people still do because they tend to treat them like toys.

The second one is that sometimes pets are handled or they are owned by people who don't treat them with the care they need, and they become strays, or they are impounded and have very sad lives. But when they are treated with the care they need, and they live alongside people who love them, they are a very good influence for people's lives.
