⚠️ Instagram API Errors

This morning (more or less 2 hours ago) instagram release a heavy update that is giving issues recognizing any kind of instagram data (photos, profiles, and so on)

Our team is working on the issue.

⚠ Temporary Solution ⚠

We introduced a temporary solution that should help in reducing the stress and improving the system stability until we find a definitive solution

Everything should be working correctly right now, but slower than usual

After an intense night of work we concluded all the updates needed to adapt to the new features imposed by Instagram.

Today though, Instagram decided to rollback the updates, re-enabling the features that were disabled yesterday.

We integrated a mixed solution, that will be able to perform both actions according to the need.

We released another important update today, that should fix all the issues that occured during this new day.

❔ What happened? ❔
A little thought about the last few days.

This post will be slightly more conversational than the ones we usually publish, but for a good reason: we want to talk to you, not tell you.

In the last few days we have faced severe challenges, with systems not working all over the world, and the constant fluctuation of Instagram updates.

Starting from May 25 and for the following days, approximately until May 28, we worked tirelessly to be able to produce a stable version of our system capable of working with the new version of Instagram.

During those days we have repeatedly reported, and repeatedly held back, that we have successfully completed the updates.

For this reason we decided to wait a few days before writing this post, and verify that everything was stable and sustainable in the long term.

Now we can tell: The updates have been applied, and the systems are stable and functional again ⭐

We are still working on some small updates regarding the control and follow search functions, but our systems are now usable without encountering errors.

Instagram is right now performing a massive update, so there will be some issues until our team align with the new instagram updates

⚡️ Higher Requests Consumption ⚡️

Due to the recent instagram updates, the number of requests made to ensure that every check is performed correctly is heavily increased.

We are working to reduce this number of requests, but for now you may expect to see higher consumption of requests in your dashboard.

To counterbalance that, you might add some lower tolerance, or less photos in each list (just for the time being).

Comments checking will consume slightly more requests than Likes checking

We are always at work trying to improve our systems and keep them running and working smoothly after every Instagram update

Let us know if you face any issues with comments checking after this update.
We tested it in depth and we found no issues, but being a new solution that we implemented quickly to avoid consuming too many requests, we need to be informed IMMEDIATELY if anything goes wrong

🕐 We just released a new update

We updated our instagram API to better handle Likes and Comments checking.

This update will resolve the issues that occured overnight

ℹ Situation Analysis ℹ

Over the Last few weeks Instagram performed a lot of different updates, and we adapted and updated our systems to be able to use the new Instagram updates and continue it's work.

It has been a rough period, but finally we reached a stable situation.

Sadly, this updates forced us to change how we check Likes and Comments, and to do it quickly (without proper month-long testing phase).

❤️ Status Update on Like Checking


☀️ Current status:
Currently, every feature of our bots is working correctly, without incurring excessively blocking and / or harmful problems for customers.


❤️ Like checking functionality
The Like checking functionality is the only one that we have not been able to solve 100%, as it is now limited to the consumption of many more requests to be able to perform its functions, this obviously makes the control correct, but at the same time more expensive than in the past.

This is why you are consuming more daily requests than before to check likes groups. (this doesn't affect comments/saves/stories).


⛓ 500 Likes Limit
From the date of TODAY 27 August following an update made by instagram at 15:00, it is now limited to checking only the last 500 likes on each photo (thus passing from 1000 to 500).

ℹ️ Our team is working hard to improve the situation - don't worry!

💻 Scheduled Maintenance 💻

Our hosting provider alerted us that on December 5, 2022 between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM (UTC+1) for more or less 1 hour of total downtime some servers will be unreachable, including our Instagram API server.

Therefore EngageBot.PRO and other platforms will be offline in that Timeframe
