How misunderstandings can be
catastrophic

Even English native speakers experience pronunciation (speaking) and comprehension (listening) difficulties.

The consequence can be funny or disastrous.

Why you struggle with communication skills

You might relate to this... I sure do.
When I was younger, I was shy and lacked confidence. I was bullied and moved schools 5 times... didn't have many friends.
I was very reserved and kept to myself. Therefore I didn't talk much and was stuck in my head a lot.
This led me to struggle with my communication skills (it didn't help that English was my 3rd language). But I learnt one of the biggest reasons was because
since I didn't talk much, it led to a weak mind and mouth connection.

Quantifiers

Quantifiers are pre-modifiers which indicate how much or how many there is of something.

Using quantifiers requires a distinction to be made between countable and non-countable nouns.

Sarcasm in written text

Sarcasm is the number one written form of communication that gets misunderstood online especially because people stopped using an exclamation mark in parenthesis.
For example "Yeah, right(!)"

We avoid sarcasm in text communication in global platforms where the audience are unknown and unrelated to us purely because different cultures consider sarcasm to be low wit, immature, insulting, unbecoming of a gentleman, etc.

Interestingly children and adults with autism take every word as is, not perceiving or wanting to accept words of sarcasm, seeing it as the opposite of truth.
