Let's get back to pandas))

A panda walks into a restaurant, sits down and orders a sandwich. After he finishes eating the sandwich, the panda pulls out a gun and shoots the waiter, and then stands up to go.

«Hey!» shouts the manager. «Where are you going? You just shot my waiter and you didn’t pay for your sandwich!»
The panda yells back at the manager, «Hey man, I am a PANDA! Look it up!»

The manager opens his dictionary and sees the following definition for panda: «A tree-dwelling marsupial of Asian origin, characterised by distinct black and white colouring. Eats shoots and leaves.»

Итак, объяснение про панду

Краткий перевод: Панда заходит в ресторан, заказывает сэндвич, ест, а потом встаёт, стреляет и направляется на выход. На крики менеджера отвечает: Я панда, посмотри в словаре!
Менеджер открывает словарь: Панда - сумчатое животное, черно-белый окрас, живёт в Азии на деревьях, eats shoots and leaves = ест (eats) побеги (shoots) и листья (leaves).
Панда же трактовал последнее предложение по-другому: Panda eats (ест), shoots (стреляет) and leaves (и уходит).

Как видим, разница в запятой:
Panda eats shoots and leaves = панда ест побеги и листья.
Panda eats, shoots and leaves = панда ест, стреляет и уходит.
Возможно, панда, хоть и умел читать, но не знал, для чего нужны запятые) Таким образом, речь здесь о пунктуации.

Почему же это не anecdote?
Joke = шутка
Pun = a play on words = каламбур = игра слов
Anecdote = правдивая история из жизни. Значение слова другое, чем в русском языке!

В связи с чем вопрос:
anecdote ≠ анекдот
Как мы называем слова, которые на разных языках звучат одинаково, но означают разные вещи?)
