I was reading the newspaper this morning and saw a story about a university student arrested and charged with burglary and assault. Last Monday, this student hit a security guard over the head, broke into his professors office, and stole the professors computer. He wasnt doing well in the class and thought that he could steal the exam.
When he was arraigned in court , the prosecutor said that the charges were very serious felonies and not simple misdemeanors. He also said that because the student was a flight risk , the bail should be set at $2 million. The judge agreed.

In a formal letter making a complaint, you may use a mild tone, for complaints about minor problems, or a strong tone, for complaints about more serious matters, especially when you are extremely upset or annoyed. However, the language you use should never be rude or insulting.
✔️ Think of situations in which you would write a letter of complaint.
(e.g. to a fast food restaurant manager to complaint about poor service.)
🌀 In the opening remarks, you should state your complaint, including details of what has happened and where/when the incident took place.
