โ–  Some words, like stop, have different meanings when they're followed by infinitive and gerund (ing)
โ€ขTo stop to do sth (= to stop sth you're doing in order to do sth else)
โ€ขTo stop doing sth (= to quit sth you're doing so that you no longer do it)
