⭐️ The infinitive simply names an action without reference to person, number or time .Therefore. I can’t make sense without the help of a finite verb .

🗂Mixing up the tenses .

❌Don’t say : They asked him to be captain, but he refuses .
✅ Say : They asked him to be captain, but he refused .

Use Of Certain Tense

⚪️1. Use the simple present for habitual or frequent actions, and use the present continuous for actions taking place at the present moment .
📝Example; I read the newspaper every day, I’m reading an english book(now).

⚪️2. Use the simple past when a definite time or date is mentioned , and use the present perfect when no time is mentioned .
📝Example : I did my homework last night . I’ve done my homework (so I can watch TV- or whatever- now)

⚪️3. Express habitual or repeated actions in the past either by the simple past or by the phrase used to .
📝Example ; I went (or I used to go ) to the cinema every week last year .
🔎Note: Don’t use the past continuous (I was going) for a past habitual action, but for an action in the past continuing at the time another action took place : I was going to the cinema when I met him .

🗂Using the possessive ‘s with inanimate object .
❌Don’t say : Her room’s window is open .

⭐️ With inanimate object we usually use the of structure . The door of the car . The surface of the water . With the names of places and organisations we can use either . London’s streets = The street of London . Italy’s climate = The climate of Italy .

But breaking them down into easier parts, you can solve even the most difficult problems ☑️

🔶Learn to solve the following problem by breaking it into several parts:

1️⃣ Step 1. Break the problem into easier parts:
20 x 6 = ?
20 x 10 = ?
4 x 10 = ?
4 x 6 = ?

2️⃣ Step 2. Solve each part:
20 x 10 = 200
20 x 6 = 120
4 x 10 = 40
4 x 6 = 24

3️⃣ Step 3. Add each product to get the answer:
200 + 120 + 40 + 24 = 384 is the answer.

✅Tips📝:

🔆To break harder multiplication problems into easier ones, look for ways to multiply by numbers with a 0 at the end or by reducing other numbers to easier multiples.

🔅For example, to calculate 35 x 8, you can break it into any of the following:

🔹 30 x 8 + 5 x 8 = 240 + 40 = 280

🔹 35 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 70 x 2 x 2 = 140 x 2 = 280

🔹 20 x 8 + 10 x 8 + 5 x 8 = 160 + 80 + 40 = 280

🔹 10 x 8 + 10 x 8 + 10 x 8 + 5 x 8 = 80 + 80 + 80 + 40 = 280
