๐Ÿ—ฃArticulation practice. ๐Ÿ‘…
Enunciating your words clearly is an essential element to communicating your message. The proper enunciation of words will help you better communicate with your audience, whether it's a one-on-one conversation or a speech to thousands. If your words are indistinct and require your audience to focus too intently, people will tune you out.
Articulation exercises are designed to:
-Help you refrain from mumbling
-Develop good habits such as opening your mouth wide enough to articulate your words clearly
-Stop tripping over words or phrases that are tricky to say
-Relax, strengthen, and stretch your facial muscles and voice.

Say the following five tongue twisters three times each.
Start slowly and slightly increase your speed each time:

๐Ÿ—ฃ"The keen king gave the queen a pink and green ring" (Target area: vowel sounds) ๐Ÿ—ฃ

๐Ÿ—ฃ "Put the peanut butter on the bread before placing it in the paper bag" (Target area: P and B sounds) ๐Ÿ—ฃ

๐Ÿ—ฃ "The tiny two-toed tree toad descended down the tree trunk to catch dinner" (Target area: T and D sounds)" ๐Ÿ—ฃ

๐Ÿ—ฃ "Gwen grew green grapes and glorious guava in her grand garden" (Target area: G sounds)

๐Ÿ—ฃ "The sun was shining on Sharon Street, where I saw Shane and Sarah sitting near the shoe shop" (Target area: S and SH sounds) ๐Ÿ—ฃ

๐Ÿ—’ About tongue twisters:
Repeating different tongue twisters is not only fun, it helps improve your enunciation and develop good habits. It also increases the flexibilty and agility of your tongue.
There are several types of tongue twisters, each with a different intended goal:
- Mixing vowel sounds to habituate your facial muscles to these sounds so you open your mouth appropriately
- Mixing consonants, such as <p> and <b> or <l> and <r>, that are sometimes said unclearly when you rush your speech and don't position your tongue appropriately
- Mixing letter combinations, such as <s> and <sh> or <th> and <ph>, that can be tricky when they are near one another.

๐Ÿ“” Writing
Session #n71: MAIN BODY PARAGRAPHS in "For and Against Essays"

๐Ÿ”ด You should start each main body paragraph with a topic sentence which introduces or summarises the main topic of the paragraph. The topic sentence should be followed by supporting sentences which justify the argument presented in the topic sentence, by giving examples or reasons.

โš ๏ธYou should use linking words/phrases to present your justifications, such as:
first of all, what is more, for example, because, since, in particular, etc.

๐Ÿ”ต TECHNIQUES TO BEGIN OR END YOUR ESSAY

To attract the reader's interest and make the beginning or ending of your essay more effective, you can use some of the following writing techniques:

a) address the reader directly e.g. "If you take the time to train your dog, it will learn to obey you.

b) include a quotation (i.e.a sentence or phrase taken from a book, play, etc.) When we use a quotation, it is necessary to mention the name of the person who said/ wrote it. e.g. As George Orwell wrote, "All animals are
equal, but some are more equal than others."

c) include a rhetorical question e.g. Is it true that a dog is man's best friend?

โš ๏ธ A rhetorical question is a question that you ask without expecting an answer. The question might be one that does not have an answer. It might also be one that has an obvious answer but you have asked the question to make a point, to persuade or for literary effect.
