The Japan International MANGA Award is a testament to manga's global influence and appeal. It was established in 2007 by Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This prestigious award honors exceptional manga artists from around the world. This award recognizes their contributions to the manga industry and their role in spreading manga culture internationally. The Japan International MANGA Award is more than a competition. It is a celebration of the Cultural Exchange Program. By recognizing talented manga artists from diverse backgrounds, the award fosters a global dialogue through the universal language of manga.

The Japan International MANGA Award will honour outstanding manga entries with several prestigious awards. The top prize, the MANGA Gold Award, will be given to the best entry, while three Silver Awards will recognize other exceptional works. Additionally, approximately eleven Bronze Awards will be presented to notable submissions. Winners of the Gold and Silver Awards will receive trophies, and Bronze Award winners will receive certificates. An exceptional entry that surpasses other Bronze Award submissions but does not qualify for a Silver Award may receive the Special Encouragement Award, accompanied by a certificate.
Winners of the Gold and Silver Awards will enjoy a fully funded seven-day trip to Japan, courtesy of the Japan Foundation, to attend the award ceremony and engage in various cultural activities. The ceremony will be held in Tokyo, blending the city's modern architecture with traditional wooden buildings. During their visit, participants will have the opportunity to meet with publishing houses, Japanese manga artists, and other industry professionals. 🌸Entries can be submitted electronically in PDF format or printed form.
🌸Electronic submissions will be printed for the selection process.
🌸Each comic artist is allowed to submit only one entry. If multiple entries are submitted, only the first entry will be considered, and all subsequent entries will be invalid.
