Hossein Ronaghi, an Iranian journalist, political blogger, and human rights activist, is in imminent danger of death. He has continued to be the voice of Iranians, as the people have taken to the streets to lead one of the largest protests against the regime’s criminal acts against women and humankind, which has led to thousands being imprisoned and hundreds killed by the Islamic Republic’s armed forces.

Ronaghi was beaten and detained by the revolutionary guards on September 4th  2022; his whereabouts are currently unknown. During the last conversation between his lawyer and family members, the lawyer indicated that Ronaghi had gone on a hunger strike. The guards have broken both his legs under torture and beatings. The guards have refused to take Ronaghi to a hospital or provide medical care to him. His lawyer has also been detained since that last conversation with the family members. While serving a previous prison sentence, Hossein Ronaghi suffered kidney failure and was denied proper medical care, eventually losing a kidney. He continues to need medication regularly. We are particularly concerned about his current detention because of Ronaghi’s poor physical health, including problems with his lungs, digestive system, and kidney. We believe his charges arise from the peaceful exercise of his human rights, and no charges should be brought against anyone for their human rights activism. Be the voice of Ronaghi and the people of Iran. Silence will enable more violence by the brutal regime in Iran. Please stop the Islamic Regime from taking another human’s life.

As Iranians-Americans, we appreciate and support those who take a stance for positive change not just in SF, but also around the world. As you may have heard, protestors in Iran and around the world came together to protest the death of a 22-year-old #MahsaAmini who fell into a coma shortly after being arrested due to a ‘violent blow in the head’.

This has caused an uprising in Iran and around the world in support of women rights and has led to a complete internet shutdown and the blockage of social media sites by the Iranian government in an effort to prevent people from sending out information to the world. In addition to the stress and trauma associated with this event, the lack of internet has caused a lot of stress for families with loved ones still in Iran.

Many people around the world including well known figures, celebrities, artists and politicians have stood up in support of this movement by amplifying our voices and continue to raise awareness on the issues on women’s rights.  

Bay Area has a big Iranian population not including the large number of Iranian businesses that contribute to the betterment of this wonderful community. A big rally is taking place this Saturday October 22nd in San Francisco and is expected to have a large turnout.

We know that the mayor and council members are committed to providing exceptional service to the residents and the Iranian community greatly appreciates your support of basic human rights and women’s rights. We would love to see you join us in the protest on Saturday, October 22, 2022 to stand in solidarity with the freedom loving people of Iran and support them in their struggle for freedom and democracy.

You heard about Mahsa Amini, but the killing of adolescents is continuing up to now: Nika Shakarami, Sarina Esmaeilzadeh, Nima, Siavash, and Asra, to name but a few. Another innocent person who was killed by this bloodthirsty regime is Ghazaleh Chalabi, a 32-years-old Iranian athlete. To cover the termination of people's lives, Islamic Republic lies about what happened. Although there is quite a lot of documentation, the dishonest and immoral regime makes fake stories to pretend to have no role in dying people, like committing suicide or being bitten by a dog or other stupid stories.
The last words Ghazaleh Chalabi spoke in this world were: "Do not be afraid. We are all together!" That you can hear them in the attached video.
Security forces shot a bullet into a mountaineer's head and deprived her of life and anything she could have. However, the persecution by the government did not end with her death. After they killed her, police stole the dead girl and refused to take her body to her family for a funeral like Nika, Nima, and many other victims' bodies. Security forces accepted taking her young and cold body to family only after Ghazaleh's mother slit her wrist.
