CPR in Action | A 3D look inside the body
This 3D animation was designed to share life-saving information with the general public to demonstrate the importance of good, effective CPR!
Effective compressions create an artificial pump and send oxygenated blood to the brain to keep the brain alive.โฆ

I used to think I'd probably panic if I saw someone collapse.
But after learning CPR, I realized something... doing nothing is actually the worst thing you can do.
If they're unconscious and not breathing normally:
Call emergency services, put your phone on speaker or tell somebody to call one, and start pushing in the center of their chest, hard and fast. Don't stop until help takes over.
The fact that surprised me the most? Even if you hear a rib crack, keep going. A broken rib can heal. A heart that isn't beating won't restart on its own.
You don't have to be a doctor to save someone's life. Sometimes, just knowing what to do is enough. Just by doing the CPR properly for the person who collapsed, you increase his/her survival chance by 50%.

๐ง Fun fact:
Your brain is the organ that tells you when something hurts... yet it can't feel pain itself.

Why do we forget why we walked into a room??? ๐ญ
You walk in and suddenly you're just standing there like:
โWaitโฆ why am I here?โ
Then you walk back and suddenly remember.
Apparently, changing rooms can change the mental context your brain is using, which can make it harder to remember what you were just thinking about.
And that's also why you might hear people say changing your study spot can help with remembering things, since your brain can connect what you learned with different places.
Now tell me I'm not the only one this happens to ๐ญ

Every time you take two breaths, one comes straight from the ocean!
Did you know whales help us breathe? Here's how:
Ocean Fertilizer: Whales dive deep to eat fish and krill. Their waste releases iron and nitrogen..essential ocean vitamins.
Feeding Micro-Plants: Microscopic plants called phytoplankton eat these minerals. Their blooms can cover thousands of square kilometers and be seen from space!
Producing 50% to 80% of Our Oxygen: Phytoplankton generate over half the oxygen on Earth, more than all tropical rainforests combined!
Trapping 37 Billion Tons of Carbon: Phytoplankton capture about 37 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide each year. That's the work of 1.7 trillion trees,or four Amazon rainforests!
The Power of One Whale: A single great whale absorbs about 33 tons of carbon dioxide over its lifetime. When it dies, its body sinks to the ocean floor, locking that carbon away for hundreds of years. A single tree absorbs only about 22 kilograms per year.
Scientists call this cycle the "Whale Pump"
