Sam Bankman-Fried found GUILTY: Disgraced FTX founder convicted in the highest profile fraud trial case since Bernie Madoff

Convicted on all seven counts, ending one of America's most high-profile fraud cases.

Jurors took less than 5 hrs to reach their verdict, having begun deliberating at 3.15pm on Thursday.

The decision marks the finale of his $8 billion fraud trial linked to the spectacular collapse of his crypto empire in November 2022.

Prosecutors alleged that Bankman-Fried built a 'pyramid of deceit' through FTX and his sister company Alameda Research to 'steal' billions of dollars in customer assets in pursuit of 'money, influence and power'. 

Meanwhile his defense lawyers, who compared the dramatic trial to a movie scene, argued that the MIT mathematics graduate 'never set out to harm anyone' - but made 'mistakes' while running two multi-billion dollar companies.
