A Republican candidate for Missouri attorney general will help former President Donald Trump appeal a recent gag order imposed on him in his upcoming trial over his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Will Scharf, a former assistant U.S. Attorney from St. Louis, has joined Trump’s appellate team, a Trump campaign spokesperson confirmed to The Star.

The decision to join Trump’s team comes as Scharf, a Republican, is mounting a primary challenge to Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey in 2024. Scharf also served as policy director in former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens’ brief administration.

Scharf, who left the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Missouri last year, is the first person to challenge Bailey, who was appointed to the position this year by Republican Gov. Mike Parson. His campaign has centered around his past work as a prosecutor against violent crimes.

A Silicon Valley executive who lied to investors about inventing technology that tested for allergies and COVID-19 using only a few drops of blood was sentenced Wednesday to eight years in prison and ordered to pay $24 million in restitution, federal prosecutors said. Mark Schena, 60, was convicted last year of paying bribes to doctors and defrauding the government after his company billed Medicare $77 million for fraudulent COVID-19 and allergy tests.

Priest Calls For Pope To Be Killed Likens Him To Devil 👀 Wow!!!

U.S. priest recently called for Pope Francis to be killed and likened him to the devil, prompting a Christian organization to launch a petition seeking to have his priesthood removed.

Last month, Father James Altman shared a video on Twitter, where he is heard referring to Pope Francis by his birth name, Jorge Bergoglio, and saying, "today, we are going to consider Jesus' teaching on the great millstone as it applies to Jorge Bergoglio."

"The best thing we could do, would be to tie the great millstone around Jorge Bergoglio's neck and throw him into the deep blue Mediterranean Sea," Altman says in the video.

Altman goes on to discuss how he has received criticism and pushback for saying that Pope Francis is not the pope and that "Bergoglio should get Jesus' great millstone treatment."
