Western Australia Gov't: Perth Mint sold diluted gold to China, got caught, and tried to cover it up, facing a potential $9 billion recall of gold bars after selling diluted or "doped" bullion to China and then covering it up, according to leaked internal report.

The LME discovered the problem after it received reports that some nickel delivered out of a warehouse in Rotterdam contained bags of stones instead of nickel briquettes.

For five years, former federal appeals court judge and Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff has been secretly advising the Supreme Court on security matters, Chertoff confirmed to Congress in a letter released Tuesday.
The arrangement went undisclosed until this year because there was no requirement for the high court to reveal it.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday that Russia has written off debts of African states worth more than 20 billion dollars.
Putin's comments came on the occasion of the International Parliamentary Conference "Russia - Africa in a Multipolar World," where the Russian President said that the volume of mutual trade "reached almost $18 billion by the end of last year."
In this regard, the President added that the volume of trade between Russia and African countries will benefit from "the more vigorous transition to national currencies in financial settlements and the establishment of new transport and logistics chains."

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) today charged eight celebrities including Lindsay Lohan and Jake Paul with 'illegally touting' crypto currencies.
As well as Lohan and Paul, the regulator said rappers Soulja Boy and Lil Yachty, singers Akon, Ne-Yo and Austin Mahone, and pornstar Kendra Lust, promoted the assets without disclosing they were being compensated.
With the exception of Soulja Boy and Mahone, the celebrities agreed to pay a total of more than $400,000 to settle the charges, without admitting or denying the SEC's findings.
The eight were charged alongside Chinese crypto baron Justin Sun who, as well as paying the stars, allegedly artificially inflated the price of the coins they were touting through a fraudulent practice known as 'trade washing.'
