DOUGLAS, Ga. - The principal of a Coffee County Elementary School has been arrested on charges related to multiple child crimes, according to GBI officials.

Anastagia Carter, 51, current principal of Indian Creek Elementary, arrested and charged with two counts of 1st-degree cruelty to a child, two counts of 3rd-degree cruelty to a child, two counts of false imprisonment and two counts of simple battery.

These charges stem from an incident that happened with a student at the elementary school, GBI officials say. They were contacted by the Coffee County Board of Education and police.

The case is still active and after an investigation is finished, GBI says the information will be given to the Waycross Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

It's the go-to email service for thousands of people worldwide, but it appears that Gmail has crashed this afternoon.

According to Down Detector, the problems started at around 13:08 GMT and are affecting users globally.

While the reason for the outage remains unclear, more than 7,400 issues have been logged on Down Detector.

Of those who reported problems, 86 per cent complained of an issue with the server connection, 10 per cent with log-in and three per cent with receiving emails.

Users across the UK and the rest of the world have reported issues with Gmail, with most coming from London, according to Down Detector.

"The Marshals Service notified the U.S. Department of Justice to the breach, and agents there began a forensic investigation, Drew Wade, chief of the Marshals Service public affairs office, told Reuters in an email.

"The affected system contains law enforcement sensitive information, including returns from legal process, administrative information, and personally identifiable information pertaining to subjects of USMS investigations, third parties, and certain USMS employees," Wade said.

The incident took place on Feb. 17, when the service "discovered a ransomware and data exfiltration event affecting a stand-alone USMS system", after which the system was disconnected from the network, Wade said.

Nishad Singh, the former director of engineering at now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has agreed to plead guilty to U.S. fraud charges, his lawyer said in court on Tuesday, as U.S. prosecutors ramp up their investigation into members of Sam Bankman-Fried's inner circle.

Singh has agreed to plead guilty to one count of wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud on FTX customers, and one count of conspiracy to commit commodities fraud, his lawyer said at the hearing in Manhattan federal court.

Binance appropriated customer assets for its own purposes in a series of moves that present similarities to events leading up to FTX's downfall, according to Forbes.

Largest crypto exchange in the world reportedly transferred $1.8 billion stablecoin collateral to hedge funds which left its investors exposed, according to Forbes, which reviewed on-chain data from Aug 17 to early Dec. These investment firms include Alameda Research, the trading arm of FTX.

Essentially, this means that more than $1 billion worth of the crypto, known as B-peg USDC, were left uncollateralized despite Binance's claims that they were 100% backed, the report reads.
