Robotic Priesthood – After e-Commerce, e-Religion is in the offing.

The fundamental question is ¬– Is there a need?

With the restrictions on age, restrictions on numbers of pilgrims the “product” demand is already decreased? Seasonal peak curves have been “flattened”. Then why does one need robots for ‘guidence’?

What about seeking help, guidance from other fellow humans – an eternal norm of societies will be decalred HARAM?

Who is going to guarantee that it will create "a soulful religious experience"?

Yes, one will never catch any ‘disease’ from a robot, but what about our cognitive abilities and control of soul? Can you reject such outcome that humans will be cognitively declined as they stop thinking and become a mere follower of a machine? (BTW, we are already blind followers of Mullas).

However, despite my opposition to Mullaism, I do not deny the need/importance of clerics (I believe that each person is inherently a follower). Yes, very few, but there are God-fearing clerics who hold their grounds and desperately trying to keep the sanity of masses intact.

However, what I feel that soon, the clergy will be out of business and seeking guidance to robots would become norm, the next logical step. As ‘guidance’ with robots becomes more and more commonplace... we may never come face to face with a real cleric (human). Obviously, this will eliminate possibilities of all/any disagreement (you don’t challenge robots; you follow them). Just imagine, wouldn’t it be hilarious, comical if one finds the other arguing with a robot?

Contrary to conventional clerics, robots will never show rudeness, arrogance, boastfulness towards others. They will be very "patient, loving" towards you. Only the nice traits in their software. So, no worries. With such traits, robotic priesthood would become a social norm quickly. It might sound a long-shot to many but, just wait – you’ll see how quickly new generations fly off with this idea. Remember, today’s technological advancement is not for us but for our next generations who are already disconnected from the real world.

Finally, if they (robotics corporations) “can”, that does not always mean they “must”.

A moral, ethical discussion/debate is necessary. Else, such step will eventually destroy the very last fabric of human societies.
