As far as I know, ASUS promised a while ago to restore the Unlock Bootloader service for Android devices in 2023 Q3.
However, as of now, this service is still not open to general users, resulting in many Chinese taking advantage of past loopholes [Note 1] to make money.
According to my information, Asus has completed the patching of this vulnerability internally and has entered the testing stage. However, since this vulnerability was corrected by Google, it may need to wait for Google to complete the review before it can be opened again.
Therefore, I personally think that ASUS is not unwilling to allow users to unlock, but because the review process is too complicated and lengthy, it is delayed in the time schedule.

Therefore, I would like to ask some media to stop misleading users with false reports and creating opposition.


Note 1: ASUS had a partial bootloader unlocking vulnerability on past devices.
