A key driver behind Strategy’s relentless Bitcoin purchases is showing signs of slowing

Michael Saylor’s preferred shares, STRC, have been trading below their $100 par value for the entire month—recently hovering around $92. That might seem like a small dip, but it carries significant consequences for Bitcoin.

STRC has been Strategy’s main engine for fundraising, fueling the acquisition of over 112,000 BTC—more than 13% of its total holdings.

Here’s the catch: as long as STRC trades below par, Strategy can’t issue new preferred shares to raise capital through this instrument.

To keep accumulating Bitcoin, the company has shifted to selling its common stock (MSTR) instead—recently funding two separate $100M Bitcoin buys this month alone.
