🇺🇸 FBI Seizes 127,000 BTC in Landmark Cryptocurrency Operation

In the biggest crypto seizure ever recorded, the FBI has confiscated over 127,000 Bitcoin and assets worth more than $8 billion through a major initiative dubbed Blackout.

The operation dismantled a vast international fraud ring operating across Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, and the UAE. Around 300 suspects were apprehended, and nearly 2,000 individuals were rescued—many of whom had been forced into crime under exploitative and brutal conditions.

To take down the communication networks enabling these illicit activities, the FBI deployed Starlink technology, shutting down over 7,000 terminals linked to the criminal infrastructure.

CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju: Bitcoin bear market may extend into early 2027

His outlook stems from historical investor profit cycles. After major profit-taking events, the combined realized and unrealized PnL of Bitcoin holders has historically declined for about 18 months before a new bull run begins.

According to his model, the current downturn began in October 2025. If past patterns hold, sustained selling pressure and subdued market conditions could continue through early 2027.

The key indicator to monitor is investor profitability. A genuine recovery would require unrealized gains to climb steadily while realized profits—and therefore selling—start to taper off.

So far, neither signal has emerged, suggesting the market remains in a bear phase—even with temporary rallies.
