*BREAKING NEWS. MAGOHA TELLS OFF PARLIAMENTERIANS OVER TRANSFER OF TEACHERS IN NORTHERN KENYA AS KNUT SG THREATENS TO SUE TSC*

Nancy Macharia of TSC put up the strongest defense of a teacher that has ever been seen in the recent past. She soberly, proffesionally and strongly told a noisy and shouting parliamentary committee, that TSC did NOT withdraw teachers from Northern Kenya. TSC TRANSFERED TEACHERS from the region who asked to be transfered on a need basis. This is the mandate of TSC.

These strong words led to more noise and drama in parliament as Mps from NEP and the KNUT sg threatened to sue NANCY Macharia for employing non locals in Garissa. Sossion said TSC had turned NEP into an employement beaureu. He sympathised with Magoha as being the only minister in the world who lacks control over teachers.

This position of Sossion was however ove-ruled by parliament chair Paul Meli who said Sossion was being petty and full of vendetta.

Views of the chair were supported by both the CS Education MAGOHA and I.G. Hillary Mutyambai have told parliament that TSC CEO Nancy Macharia is 100% right in transfering non local teachers from Nothern Kenya due to insecurity. He said, he had studied the report from TSC and it was solid that locals were targetting non locals with a view to threaten and hold TSC ransom so as to force employement of failures in the region to be teachers.

Magoha said and I quote... "The problem of insecurity facing teachers in Northern Kenya cannot be solved in by Mps in a parliament boardroom. It is those hon members of parliament who must take Kenyans to the ground to tell them why only NON LOCAL CHRISTIAN teachers are targeted.

Hilary Mutyambai the IG was even more blunt. He told the parliamentary committee that Investigations show that LOCALS including learners in Garissa planned and participated in the attack and the recent killing of 3 Nywele Ngumu teachers. He said every local was informed there was going to be an attack and only the nywele ngumu fellas were unaware. He said even the policeforce has lost nywele ngumu officers working in NEP yet they are armed and in camps. He said the LOCALS in NEP must explain why teachers are targeted before TSC can think of posting teachers.

TSC CEO... Daktari Nancy Macharia gave the best presentation ever seen north of Limpompo south of Sahara in defense of a teacher. Nancy could easily pass for a union leader defending employees when she said 42 NON LOCAL teachers have been killed in NEP. She said it will be unfair to lower pass mark for people seeking to train as teachers in NEP to D minus or E as suggested by #BBINonsense cartels in Garissa. She said 24,054 candidates in Mandera, Garissa and Wajir who got C plain in the last few years and who have not applied to join TTC. She wondered why LOCAL leaders want TSC to lower entry point for Somali teachers to D minus ... yet we have over 24000 who HAVE C PLAIN which is a requirement to enter TTCs. Instead of lowering pass mark.. can the C plain candidates apply?

Kuppet Chair led other members of parliament in praising TSC Ceo for the good report and for defending teachers. KNUT sg however was ruled out of order and accused by chair of the committee Paul Meli for being petty and going for side shows when he declared that.. . himself read (KNUT) will sue TSC if they ever employed a non local to teach in NEP again. Melly ruled out Sossion saying he should not bring personal vendettas and threats to serious parliament discussions. Sossion retorted back by claiming that the chair was trying to gag him and he will speak his mind. Sossion had also claimed that Magoha was toothless as he had no control on teachers. Magoha ignored him.

*CONCLUSION*
Nancy Macharia wins round one... via KNOCK OUT... Tsc did NOT withdraw teachers.. It transfered teachers on a case by case request for transfer. This is the mandate of TSC.

*36,000 P1 TEACHERS WITH HIGHER QUALIFICATION TO SERVE IN HIGH SCHOOLS*

*_TSC to post the tutors to junior secondary schools to meet staffing needs under new curriculum_*

Teachers Service Commission (TSC) will
deploy 36,341 P1 teachers who have acquired
higher qualifications to teach at lower second-
ary schools to meet staffing needs following
the roll-out of new curriculum.

In a report titled, Status Report on Teacher
Preparedness for Competence Based Curricu-
lum Implementation, presented before the
Parliamentary Committee on Education,
TSC said that it will deploy the P1 teachers
who hold diplomas, higher diplomas, under-
graduate degrees, Post-graduate diplomas,
masters and PHDs to serve at junior second-
ary levels at various institutions across the
country.

The report read by the Commission
Chief Executive, Nancy Macharia noted that
18,076 employed as P1teachers had acquired
degrees and 17,758 higher diplomas by end
of October, 2018.

It also notes that 486 have attained mas-
ter’s degrees, 11 postgraduate diplomas and
5 have diplomas with the same number be-
ing PhD holders.

Under the new curriculum, junior sec-
ondary school education for Grades 7,8
and 9 just like the senior secondary (Grades
10,11 and 12) level will take three years to
complete.

The new curriculum, which was fully
rolled out in January this year, will be imple-
mented progressively from the lower class to
the higher classes as it seeks to enable learn-
ers to acquire life skills.

Unlike the former system where learn-
ers crammed for the sake of passing exami-
nations, the new system seeks to encourage
learners to use their competencies in solving
some of the problems.

Lower secondary will be the next level
after upper primary in the new education
system.

Learners are expected to be exposed to
a broad based curriculum to enable them
explore their own abilities, personality and
potential as a basis of choosing subjects ac-
cording to career paths of interest at the se-
nior school.

They will also undergo a rigorous ca-
reer guidance programme and be exposed to
the related subjects to enable them to make
informed choices as they transit to senior
school and subjects here will be classified
either as core or optional.

The curriculum was piloted in 2017
between May and September across 470
schools, 10 in each county. Its actual imple-
mentation started in January 2018, covering
pre-school and will continue until the last
batch sits Form Four exams in 2026.

Besides, 96,522 primary school teachers
were trained on the CBC in 2017 and 79,760
in pre primary during training sessions aimed
at enhancing its delivery.

This year pre-service teachers will con-
tinue training on the new education system.
According to the report, 16,711 teachers
with P1 certificates have acquired diplomas
and degrees, which were submitted to the
Commission, between 8th January 2014 and
July 2017.

The Commission has acknowledged the
submission of the credentials in which 8,499 and 8,212 had diploma and degree qualifications.
The ministry has ring-fenced budget￾ing for the curriculum reforms from the year
2019/2020. The cost of the initiative from Pre
Primary 1, Pre Primary 2 up to Grade 4 will be
approximately Sh500 billion for the first four
years.

However, it is worth noting that the train￾ing of teachers under the CBC is a continu￾ous process and the phase two of early years
teacher training was carried out from 17th to
21st December 2017 in all the education zones
of the country and 98,000 teachers were trained
through the Tusome project.

The 2-6-3-3-3 model places emphasis on
formative years of learning where learners will
spend a total of 17 years.
*_KNUT SUFFERING FROM SEVERAL LIFE THREATENING AILMENTS._*

*_Kenya Teachers have continued to respond very well to our call of reject, reject and reject. We no longer hear about endless and useless trips abroad. The amount due to hit the KNUT KCB account is now a partly 60million from over 140M last year a time like this. Sossion is like a rabid dog which will never stop barking. Unfortunately he has infected one John Matiang'i with the dangerous infection.Infact, more dangerous than the world most feared virus, corona. He's turned to a strong supporter of Sossion and a harsh critic of the GoK and TSC.Whatever happens, I'm praying to be allowed to see January of next year. By law KNUT can not sit in a negotiation table with TSC because they are way below what the law of recognition stipulate.Infact,as i pen down this article,THE COUNTDOWN TO CANCELLATION OF THE RECOGNITION AGREEMENT IS LOOMING !!!Teachers will continue to suffer because KNUT is only interested in their money and not their welfare.Thats why Sossion is fighting everyone to remain relevant. He is fighting Kewota,he is fighting Kuppet,he is fighting Knut and infact,he is chasing his own shadow.Sossion and co,imagine Kewota and others shall remain a little bit longer and your great grand children shall join and be life members!!!.Boss,a headcount is a normal occurence in any organization world over. Most recently, the Police underwent the same. Many fake officers were netted.Whats wrong with TSC doing the same? Why not update teachers records?Meanwhile, continue fighting everything and everyone in goverment but life goes on..._*
